Top three for me for decade, not shockingly all Eagles moments - 2002-03 NFC Title Game - To this day, I still believe we could have, and should have, beaten the Bucs. That game was a complete meltdown on every level. - Superbowl XXXIX - Pretty self explanatory. Especially considering we had a real shot to win if McNabb wasn't puking his guts up do to the pressure. - 2008-09 NFC Title Game - Yes it was really a shock we got there, but this game pretty much solidified in my mind that the Reid/McNabb tandem would never win a championship. They showed up for one quarter and still barely lost. As for lifetime, I'd only add the 1993 World Series and that one playoff series where the Devils knocked out Lindros in a premeditated shot. Gotta keep your head up

week 17 I believe last year, Dallas getting torched at Philly
anytime the Cubs got into the playoffs this decade it seems. Bartman, and especially the last two times getting swept 3-0. and do I need to mention that this decade our partners in futility through the years, the Red Sox have won twice (though I was definitely rooting them on in 2004), the Cardinals and (uggghhhhh) the White Sox have won the World Series
Steve Alford taking a somewhat decent Iowa Basketball program and wrecking it. now our basketball program looks like a joke. New Mexico you can have him. tie this in with the Northwestern St. game. just had a feeling that an Alford coached team would find a way to lose, wasn't thinking that a last second 3 would do it.

For me it's the Angels losing in the 2009 ALCS. They've been my favorite baseball team for a long time and they had such a rough season, especially with Adenhart's death. Seeing Scioscia's interview after their loss made me tear up, because he was just so disappointed and it looked like he'd been crying.
I was really bummed for a few days after that.

Three memories, to be honest.
2000: NBA Finals: I wanted Indiana to win so badly. I know it was Kobe and Shaq, but the Pacers have never gotten the chance to equate their ABA success.
2005: The World Series: Nobody bothered to mention the Houston Astros during the ENTIRE series, EVER. In fact, good luck ever asking someone about them.
2006: AFC Divisonal Game: Vander-jerk misses a field goal, and it proves that the Colts and byes in the postseason are a dangerous mix.

Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS. The Red Sox have a three-run lead, and they're five outs away from defeating the Yankees. Any sane or rational person would have pulled Martinez for Timlin, Embree or Williamson (all of whom had been on fire during the LCS), but we all know what decision Grady Little ran with. It was gut-wrenching because after the Yankees tied it, I knew it was a matter of time. It wasn't about how the Red Sox would lose, but when.
Super Bowl XLII. I know that it was the wet dream of everyone outside of New England, but surprisingly, this loss affected people negatively. The loss was the worst loss I've ever witnessed, because it was so sudden. Even with a 7-3 halftime lead, I was just waiting for the Patriots offense to explode and run away with the game in the second half. Even with a 14-10 lead and 2:00 remaining, I figured the defense could step it up and make one play. I didn't see it coming, and the fact that the loss completely blindsided me is what made this the worst loss ever.

Game 7 last year vs Carolina. (and I was there.....making it suck far worse)
Bruins FINALLY get out of the first round and seem to actually have a legit shot at the cup. Fans in attendance were chanting "We want it" ("We want it as bad as you do" was the Bruins' PR slogan last season)....instead theBruins lose to a very game Carolina team on a total crap goal in OT.

Two AFL ones (an also for my team. whodathunk?)
~ Western Bulldogs v Adelaide (Preliminary Final, 1997)
This one was a real heartbreaker for me. The bulldogs had the game pretty much in the bag at Three quarter time. This was to be the Doggies first grand final since 1961 and we had a very convincing lead going into the final quarter. What does adelaide do? Move Darren Jarman to full-forward who humiliates the Doggies and gets Adelaide through.
~ E.J Whittens last public appearance in 1995 E.J (aka Teddy) Whitten was one of the AFLs all time legends, earnig the nickname Mr. Football while he was playing for the Footscray Bulldogs. By the time of the following video he was dying of cancer and had the lost the usage of his eyes. Just watch the video and you'll see how sad it is.
During the game he was driven around a lap of the MCG, with his son Ted jr. by his side and Mariah Carey's "Hero" playing on the sound system. He received a standing ovation from the crowd, most of whom were too young to have ever seen him play in person, but for those who had had the privilege to see him play.
He died less than a month later

- The 2001 AFC Divisional Playoff game between the Raiders/Patriots. We had that game won and then came that goddamn tuck rule call. Even by the wording of the rule it was still a fumble as Brady brought the ball back to his body and to his non-throwing hand. Then Brady makes a few passes and we lose in overtime. I'm not one to call out the refs for conspiracy against my team or any others despite constant horrible officiating, but I highly doubt they would've made that call if it wasn't on the Raiders.
- Then there's Superbowl XVII, where Oakland got decimated by none other than John Gruden's Bucs as Gruden knew practically all our plays that remained unchanged (having designed them). Which leads to ....
- Having since then the worst losing stretch of any team in NFL history, with no end in sight.

I remember myself getting publicly humiliated at school because I was one of the ppl who picked the Raiders to win. But the fact that they were the one that ended the Bucs' playoffs hopes last season (with a comeback victory AT Tampa) was a good revenge.

The Raiders were favored (barely), but any knowledgeable football fan should have known that Gruden's knowledge of our system and our players was going to make it pretty tough on us. That said, that win against them last year was indeed awesome.
