So I was wanting to buy my pal a collection of Iron Man stories for Christmas since we're both into the character (And the guy is almost single handedly keeping me in current Iron Man stories ) I've seen a few like Iron Man Essistentials Vols 1,2,3 as well as a collection called Marvel Platinum: The Definitive Iron Man........Any suggestions as to what is the stronger option Edit : Anyone?

Armor Wars and Demon in a Bottle are both really really good. Pretty much anything in the Micheline/Layton era is gold ( literally since it's Iron Man); you also can't go wrong with Byrne and JRJR's early nineties run. There's also a story during the Layton years where Stark and Doom go back in time to Camelot and battle that's both quirky and cool.

Do they actually call the storyline "Demon in a Bottle" now? When it was first issued, that was only the title of the last installment.

All so Extremis, Execute Program, and pretty much the whole Invincible Run are great pick ups right now. All so had the only part of Civil War that made both sides look good.

When it was reprinted in 2006, 'Power of Iron Man' got changed to 'Demon in a Bottle'. Demon and another classic, 'Doomquest', are collected in Marvel Premiere hardcovers.
Apart from those two, Armor Wars as mentioned and maybe even the Many Armors of Ironman, both in paperback.
The first two are also in paperback, but i'm not sure if Demon is still in print in that format. If you get Doomquest, get its sequel 'Legacy of Doom' as well.

Thanks. Originally only fans called the entire story arc "Demon in a Bottle" but I guess its official now.

Doomquest & Legacy Of Doom
They're both funny and plant the seeds for some of todays stories (Mainly Le fay & Doom), Plus Doomquest has IMO Doom's funniest line
Doom: Ahh a Renoir, I had 3 but I ordered one to be destroyed Tony Stark: YOU DESTROYED A PRICELESS WORK OF ART, IN GOD'S NAME WHY!!!!? Doom: It displeased me
