Have you gotten to the turtle part yet? That's what made me truly regret ever watching it.

Even though it is a disturbing film I enjoyed it.

ehhhh it is what it is and even though the turtle part is pretty terrible especially when you find out that all of that stuff is real, it's nothing more than your typical early 80s low budget horror movie to me....

It's pretty awful. Disturbing stuff. Make sure there aren't any kids, animal rights activists, sexual abuse victims, or people with squeamish stomachs or a propensity for disturbing imagery in their dreams in a 300-foot radius.

It was the rape/punishment scene on the beach that got to me.
Though using the animal killing in the movie was very exploitative, I was able to stomach it due to the fact that it was done by natives who probably do it every day just to survive.

IMO it's a lame movie. intentionally tasteless, kinda reminded me of Salo, one of those "most extreme movie EVAR!" things that just came off as underwhelming and pointless.

I liked it. Thought it had a decent attempt at social commentary behind it. Not one of the best movies I have ever seen, but also not one of the worst either.

You shouldn't be afraid. But be prepared to be disturbed, depressed and wondering why you watched it in the first place. 'Curiousity killed the cat' is not just an old saying. I should know.

I refuse to watch. Even if Curiousity comes afoot, I will not watch it. Hearing that the animal deaths in the film are real and genuine, Not only won't I watch the film, but if it came 100 foot of my house, I will destroy it in a manner of seconds.
I know what it's like to see an Animal get killed up close, and it left me in a Nervous wreck, and turned me Vegetarian for four years.
Being an Animal lover, I will never....EVER, see the film. To me....I consider this a snuff film.

To me....I consider this a snuff film. I feel the same way about Glitter. I've never seen Cannibal Holocaust myself, but I don't think I could sit through the animal killings.

Out of some morbid curiosity I want to see this movie, but I don't for all of the reasons most people have hated it. I'm a big animal lover and knowing that they killed all of those animals is horrible.

I was just about to suggest Cannibal Ferox as a good follow up. Good call 3:F.M. Dragon.

I was just about to suggest Cannibal Ferox as a good follow up. Good call 3:F.M. Dragon. Why thank you. As many times as I've watched "Holocaust" (which is really less than a dozen), I have yet to make it through "Ferox" completely, only watching bits and pieces. To me, "Ferox" has always been the worse of the two. Fun Fact: If you own "Cannibal Holocaust" or "Cannibal Ferox" you can "thank" Sage Stallone.
