Have you ever purchased multiple versions of the same film THREE times? I just recently did, first i got the SE of Superman the Movie in 2001. Then last year i purchased the budget set that had all 4 superman films in it. Then a couple of days ago i got the ultimate collection in the tim case (it was only $20, i couldnt resist). So basically i bought Superman: The movie, 3 times (and double dipped on 2,3, and 4).

I have with kung fu movies.
I picked up Fists of Fury for $3 at fye. Then I found it in a double set with The Chinese Connection for $5 at Value City. Then this past summer I got the Bruce Lee Ultimate Collection. I gave Fists of Fury to a friend after getting it.
Ditto with Sonny Chiba's Street Fighter. I bought it for $1 at Family Dollar. Then I got a double disc of it and Return of the Street Fighter at Wal-Mart for $1. Then my sister got me the Martial Arts Masters set for Christmas either last year or the year before at the Dollar General. Again, I gave the first copy of Chiba to a friend after getting the second.

No. Closest I got is with Aliens twice. Second time I bought was for when the double disc special edition came out in conjunction with 'Aliens vs Predator' I think. I love that film. I will buy it a third time on Blu Ray in the near future.

Try a QUADRUPLE dip, which is what I have done for the Paramount Friday the 13th films. My list is as follows:
1. Original VHS releases 2. Original DVD releases 3. 2004 box set 4. New 2009 deluxe editions
And inevitably, I'll upgrade to Blu-ray, which means I'll have 5 different copies of each film. If that's not dedication to a film franchise, I don't know what is.

All the time with public doman collections. Horror movies, cartoons, whatever. Think I have 6 or 7 Little Shop of Horrors because of that.

The only time I triple dip was on episodes 26 - 28 of Yu Yu Hakusho. Since I own the edited VHS tape of the episode, the Original dvd release verison, and the Season set verison of the episode.

I don't think I've triple-dipped yet but I have double-dipped a few times. Once for Zombie/Zombi 2 as I had the original Anchor Bay version then bought the 2-disc Media Blasters version, once for Beyond Re-Animator when the first copy I bought was a screener copy with no special features (meaning no "Move Your Dead Bones" music video), and once for Santa Claus Conquers The Martians although one of them was the MST3K version and one was the original for super cheap. I'm sure there's more that I can't think of right now.

I once double-dipped while renting. I rented two kung-fu movies at the same time at Blockbuster. Well, it turns out that they were the same exact movie under two completely different names!

I've only double-dipped with DVDs, but with albums I've triple and even quadruple-dipped. Hell, with Beatles albums I've probably done the ridiculous quintuple-dip.

I've only double-dipped once(bought the Godfather on DVD, then bought all 3 in the box set). But there are a few dvds that I wouldn't mind dipping to get on Blu Ray(dark knight, sin city, the godfather trilogy)

Not yet. Only double-dipped on "Return of the Living Dead" one original DVD copy, one with Special Features/Zombie Commentary. I also somehow ended up with HEAVILY edited versions of a few Troma films, so I had to seek out the unedited goodness.

I think at one point I had three copies of Night Of The Living Dead (one in a crappy horror boxset and then possibly VHS and separate DVD when my wife forgot we owned it in two other formats). Other than that- no. Unless you count that I have the Japanese, American and Korean versions of 'Ring'.
I've definitely got vinyl and CD of more than one album- Siouxsie's 'Tinderbox', Bowie's 'Scary Monsters'- but mainly because the vinyl is worn out, either due to its condition when I bought it or its condition when I'd finished with it. I may also have cassette and CD of at least one album, although none spring immediately to mind.
