Mashers, thanks. Boiled just until fork tender with some strips of skin left on, with butter, whole milk (half-and-half just makes them overly mushy due to the much higher fat content), garlic powder (integrates better with the spuds than diced garlic), kosher and pepper, and if you're feeling really fancy, a little bit of chopped rosemary.
Mashed spuds are supposed to be fluffy, not sloppy.
