I did at one time. The most recent time was about 4-5 years ago when I threw a gamecube controller while playing madden 04. I have calmed down though now.

I did once with an SNES controller. It was during a round of Mortal Kombat with my bro. He figured out how to do the fireball from a friend. So I got pissed and threw it and stormed off as that's all he was doing. Then I learned the double fireball from one of my code books and he threw the controller. My dad took the game from us temporarily and we never played each other again. For the next month or so, though, our mom would play against us. We'd sit there and fireball her.

MLB The Suck '09. Then I hurled the game disc across the room.

I did once a few months ago. I was frustrated, because my team were playing so badly on Pro Evolution Soccer 2009's Become A Legend Mode.
I was swearing a lot too. If any neighbours heard it, they probably thought I was insane.

Just once: An N64 controller while playing Madden 99. Shattered the left side of the controller after I threw it against my closet door. Yeah, playing Madden 2009 cost me a PS3 controller.

I've taken baseball bats to game consoles and yes, thrown every controller I've ever known.
Of course, I do have anger management issues.

Never done it. I've felt like doing it when I was younger, but I always had in mind that if I did, I might have to pay for a new one.

Naw, I've never been very well off growing up and now I just don't like to spend money of things I already have, so I'm super careful with my controllers. Besides it's not the controllers fault that a game is hard. If anything, you should throw the game case or something across the room.

Back when I was a kid, my Sega Genesis controller got the shit kicked out of it on a daily basis (especially when I couldn't get past the Metropolis Zone boss in Sonic 2). Nowadays, I wouldn't dream of tossing ANY controller, regardless of anger or frustration.

Useless bit of info: the NES and Genesis controllers still work after you belt someone in the head with them six times......not that I ever did that......as far as you or any authorities know ;D

I used to do it all the time, particularly with the PS2's DualShock 2 controllers which have withstood a remarkable amount of physical abuse over the years. These days, having generally mellowed down a lot, I throw controllers very rarely... and when I do, I don't put any force behind it and always try to aim at something soft like a cushion or whatever.
I still swear like the Angry Video Game Nerd pretty often, though. My neighbors probably think I'm insane.

I remember truly being pissed off at Madden 2009 last year. I broke my PS3 controller, and I threw the game case into the wall. I was very, very angry for some reason, and I would say it was the angriest I had ever gotten in recent years with a video game. I did used to get mad when playing Primal Rage back in the day I think, or I'd get mad when my games wouldn't start up. I remember being mad at my laptop computer like that, and just smashing the keyboard as hard as I can with my fist. For some reason, it never came on after I did that.

Just a few minutes ago. I'm playing the Conduit online and (shock) I was on a kill streak. Suddenly, my mother wants me to grab a hat for her that was nearby her while I was in the middle of a gunfight. Naturally, I die and I start playing crap afterwards(thanks mom...).
As I'm trying to get my mojo back, the smurfing battery on my wiimote decides to die. Fantastic. Fan-freaking-tastic.
I didn't throw my controller, but I did slam it angrily against a table.

I never have, but my loser brother used to do that all the time; the little jerk couldn't stand to lose, be it to an opposing player or just the game itself.
