I was actually hoping for a sequel in the same universe as the remake, oh well. I actually liked those films, more than the original even.

How do you make a broken down retard with one freakin' arm missing, who has access to only a pull start chainsaw the LEAST bit threatening? The ONLY way I could see (and feel free to share anything you might come up with, cause I am genuinely stumped...no pun intended) this working is if they squeezed one more film in between the prequel and the remake. The Hewitt Clan vs. the rest of those gun-totin, pissed off Bikers WOULD make a damn fine TCM film....and bookend it with the pregnant chick from the remake and HER fiancee and his buddy showing up at the end....and you'd have a decent film.

I watched the prequel last night and it's easily the worst in the series IMO out of the 6 movies made.

My reaction from the Horror Thread:
"Ok....now I might not be the best one to comment on this, since my animosity towards PD stems almost entirely from their f***buggery of the TEXAS CHAINSAW series. Be that as it may, may I direct your attention to the last line in his quote? He loved what PD did to the series, so his film is going to be an "entirely different beast". Let's see hee-yah....number one, if he's such a huge fan of what those douchebags did, shouldn't he aspire to make his film like theirs? And number two, there are ONLY so many different things you can do with a hulking mongoloid wielding a chainsaw on a farm in rural Texas. To that end I sincerely hope he's not hinting at the "Leatherface in DA HOOD" I've heard rumblings about from a few horror sites. I am seriously worried about TCM at this point. Leave it alone, people. None of the f*****g idiots in Hollywood have clue one as to what to do with that series, or how to make it scary again. But I digress. "
In short, SCREW this idea.
