Actually, its not the season finale. Its just the ending of the first half of Season 4.

The commerical is wrong, since Season 4 is 16 episodes all together. We just getting the first 8 episodes for now. And we get the rest of the season in Spring 2010/Summer 2010.

Hopefully, Venture Bros. gets renewed for Season 5 (after the 2nd half of Season 4 airs).

Hopefully, Venture Bros. gets renewed for Season 5 (after the 2nd half of Season 4 airs). I think that's pretty much a given. AS seems to be solidly behind Venture Bros. so it'd probably take an epic loss of viewers to have them not renew.

That and wasn't the show the rare creature with DVD season sets that progressively sold more as they went along, unlike most programs? The question is, if we get or don't get a year 5...its the decision of Jackson/Hammer. At least thats my impression.

So, Dean has gained confidence in talking to girls. And, Triana's gonna be a sorcress. I was kind of hoping that those two crazy kids would hook up. Oh well. Who knows?

I think we'll know far in advance when the show is in its final season(unless, like stated, a sudden loss of viewership), as I think both the creators and Adult Swim would want to make a BIG deal about it.
Also, I don't see this season being a final season. I mean, we're just one episode of 1/2 way through this season, and I don't see them wrapping up the events of the first 8 episodes PLUS the first 3 seasons in just 8 more episodes. I could, however see this season setting up the series's end after season 5 or 6.

isn't this season suppossed to be the last season?
I thought doc hammer said that they didn't want to go on anymore. Plus with the way things are wrapping up this season I wouldn't be surprised.

Where you heard that? Last I heard, Publick said he and Hammer would take a "break" because they basically produced seasons 3 and 4 back-to-back and are fried.

But if you do think about it, entire characters have had their stories wrapped up this season. Is there any point in bringing back the order of the triad after this show? They've wrapped up every plot thread that involved those characters.

Its more like expanding and tossing aside the plot template they've had been using for the first three seasons. Brock is gone, Hank and Dean actually finally grow up (in their own awkward comedic ways) in the real world beyond being dorky kids sheltered by insanity. Triana is out of the compound, Orpheus is over with his whole issue about his wife dumping him, and hey even Jefferson has a magic power. You know, I actually kinda admire this. The show started out as a simple Johnny Quest parody, and its slowly grown. And now the kid has finally outgrown the training wheels. Plus it opens up more storyline possibilities. The only constant so far is Monarch being the Monarch, but hell Henchman #21 went from fat nerd punchline to legitimate tough guy.

Okay, this totally makes up for the blah episodes for the first half of the season *Totally has nothing to do with it being my favorite characters only pretty much, totally*. We got some more Dean character development, Hank being awesome like he has all season, Dermott actually giving some good advice, Dr. O being awesome and learning a bit more about himself, Al and Twilight being good side charcaters, and some nice growth for Trianna. Unfortunatley it all so torpedoed my favorite OTP *DeanxTrianna* but still great episode.
But that's what I thought at first. I've taken some time to think it over, but I don't think the Master ruined Triana/Dean OTP. I think he's creating it.
If Triana and Dean went on their current paths, it'll probably end up as the Master portrayed sans exaggerations. But if they were seperated so that Triana can become a sorceress and Dean would get to focus on science, when they grow up and become masters of their fields, they'll wind up together in a team.
I'm betting the show ends with a look into the future with Hank, Dean, and Triana as a team of better versions of their parents. As a team who has overcome their failures.

And where does that leave Brock, now that I think about it? Does HE come back and start to make up for lost time with Dermott? Or is he the lone wildcard that never settles down?
