So I was listening to the local morning sports show and they had an interview with the Executive director of the NFLPA and he thinks the owners are looking to lock out the players sometime next year I wasn't paying attention if it was before, during, or after the uncapped year.

I'm not sure, but I think if they don't come up with a new CBA next season, the next season will be uncapped.

The lockout would, I believe, be 2011 or maybe 2012. It's after the uncapped year.
I really can't see it coming to that though. They have to have seen what happened to baseball and hockey and know that a lockout would be bad. They may not believe it, but the NFL can lose popularity if they don't play their cards right.

Hines Ward (hamstring) indicated that he will try to play against the Browns Thursday night.

Hines Ward (hamstring) indicated that he will try to play against the Browns Thursday night. Well he's kind of made his bed with those 'Ben should of played with a concussion' comments a couple of weeks ago. He has to play to save face I guess. Which is dumb, he could make his hamstring worse and be out for the season.

I know which is why the owners should stop listening to Jerry Jones. NFL could do what they did last time during a strike......have replacement players and what we saw then was that people didnt mind the replacement players. But now you have a bad economy and the average fan can barely afford to go to even one game. People will not spend $600 to take their family of four to go see a bunch of NFL scrubs and Division I-AA and D-II stars while sitting in cheap seats. Also, the NFL wasn't a juggernaut back then. Baseball was still king and football might have been below basketball in popularity. So unless the NFL makes it easier to go to games if they bring in replacements, then I don't think it will be as attractive of an option. I mean, look at the UFL and XFL. People do not want to see an inferior product, no matter who it is. Also a lockout is not a strike. In a lockout the owners close the doors and refuse to let anyone in. So they would not be able to have replacements play in place of the players.

Hey Browns when you run the wildcat you might want to try passing ... since you haven't done it all year and it could be a big play in this game.

Both teams shot themselves in the foot there. Awesome.

What a Dallas-esque slide by the Steelers. Right down to the non-existent tackling.

<3 Cribbs. He's the only offensive threat they have and that still happens.

I'm really starting to get pissed now. Now ? I've been pissed for several weeks. WTF happened to the D ? I know Polamalu is one of the all time best safetys in the league, but the D has always been about more than that. They are not about one person.

Wow Pittsburgh, just wow.
Down 13 points to the Browns. I guess you guys suck even more without Troy Polamalu than everyone initially thought.

Oh I've been pissed since the Chicago game and then again after the second Cincinnati game, but now it's overkill.
I want to know what happened to the offensive line. They have been somewhat good this year, but 5 sacks in the first half? Disgusting.

This goes beyond Polamalu. Yes, he's an emotional leader, but they still have the reigning defensive player of the year on their team. There's absolutely no reason they should be this bad.
Thanks for probably costing me my Fantasy League Pittsburgh. God forbid I expect you to shut down the BROWNS.
Now I have to hope Peyton lights up a revived Denver team.
