All of the major studios predicting that the original Star Wars would be a huge flop is a pretty big one.

Not everyone, especially the experts, gets the future right. "Computer games are the hula hoops of the 1980s. There already are indications that the mania for twitch games may be fading" - Author Michael Crichton, 1983 in Electronic Life The thing was, at the time, he WAS right. 83 was when games began to die in the US. What no one accounted for was another country making video games and reviving the industry.

“There is no need for any individual to have a computer in their home.” Ken Olson, President of Digital Equipment Corp, in 1977. According to Snopes Olsen wasn't talking about the PC market that was developing. He was talking about massive, all encompasing bussiness computers

"You've got a good voice, but your lyrics need some work"-Woody Guthrie meeting a young Bob Dylan Boy, talk about being REALLY wrong! "We'll be sure to sell a million units by January!" Capital records spiel about The Beach Boys upcoming album "SMiLE" in 1966. Of course, SMiLE would not come out until Brian did it as a solo project in 2004.

Remember the draft when Peyton Manning was selected as #1 and Ryan Leaf was #2? Most experts claimed that the Colts couldn't go wrong picking either one. Personally, I didn't see it. I cannot state how happy I was that they drafted Manning.

"You don't win anything with kids" - Alan Hansen about Man Utd before they won the double.
Michael Fish saying there wouldn't be a hurricane.
Just about everything some video game experts have ever said, especially about how the Nintendo DS would be a great big failure.

"You've got a good voice, but your lyrics need some work"-Woody Guthrie meeting a young Bob Dylan To be honest Dylan's first album was just covers and two songs that really don't stand up to his other stuff so it kind of makes sense there.

Whichever higher up at my college decided that extending the term by two days was a good idea.

Every baseball or hockey expert who, year-in and year-out, kept predicting the demises of either the Atlanta Braves in baseball, or the New Jersey Devils in hockey.
The Braves predictions finally came true in 2006 after over a decade and a half, and the Devils continue to thrive in yet another season where tons of preseason predictions had them missing the playoffs.

" You're gonna fail the Spanish Regents exam and I'm gonna be glad when you do." Then I get an 85 on the test and don't have to take a foreign language in high school.

As a Braves fan I just got to where I ignored that crap, and to anyone that accuratly predicted it when the Braves finally did start to suck I call it more sheer dumb luck from eventually having to be right than actually calling it correctly.

Hey guys, did you know the video game industry crashed in the early 80's? Yes ... yes I do. And I can't find the video, but Mel Kiper Jr. is wrong a lot, and there was one video going around that showed a bunch of the draft day rants he was wrong on. "You'll never make it anywhere in Hollywood because you don't enunciate when you speak and you squint." -- Casting director to a young Clint Eastwood when he took a screen test.
