...you probably will want to stay away from Death Troopers, by Joe Schreiber. Yes, it has zombies and yes, it's in the Star Wars universe... but it really isn't all that good despite the "surprise" cameos. The writing is sub-par as is the storytelling as Schreiber introduces characters either to kill them off immediately or simply to give them a quarter of a backstory and then not do anything else to flesh them out for the remainder of the book. Are the zombies at least interesting? No, not really. But what about the zombie stormtroopers?! Well, the closest you come to it is a completely-inexplicable occurence where... {Spoiler}One of the brothers is shot and killed. He is abandoned by the doctor, presumably, but shows up a few minutes later across the Star Destroyer in Storm Trooper gear (which he wasn't in in the first place) just to chase his non-dead brother as a zombie. I would give it 2 stars out of 5 simply for the two "WTF" scenes. How the hell do you mess up Star Wars with Zombies? Read the book and see or save yourself some time and just take my word for it.

I defended this book a bit on the WOTC Star Wars board because the concept interested me. Goddamn I'm an idiot.

Zombies do not belong in Space Opera Science Fiction. That's what Borg are for.

Reminds me of the last ditch effort to get anyone to play Star Wars Galaxies. This year they did an in game event where zombies invaded the game, and the infection could be passed along to other players.

Folks, if you're interested enough to read it, go to the library. Don't buy it unless it turns out you do enjoy it. Nothin' wrong with having different tastes than me.

That Return of the Dead poster would be better as Return of the Deadites.

Zombies have officially jumped the shark. Oh, they jumped the shark years and years and years before this! I'm so sick of damn zombies, it isn't even funny. People have accoused Stephanie Meyers of being a shitty fan fiction writer who somehow got published? At leaist she TRIED to use her own unique material. Ripping off "Pride and Prejudice" and inserting zombies is 33,000,000,000,000 times dumber and shittier than anything Meyers came up with.

Zombies have officially jumped the shark. Until they sparkle, they haven't jumped just yet. They're just in overkill just now.

If you had, you'd probably see that it's actually very uniquely done and actually really good.
