Yes, the werewolf is hosting SNL. And, right now, he's playing a girl who's in love with Edward and debating a girl who's with the werewolf.

Yeah. I saw a bit and then turned it back off. The thing is the kid maybe an ok actor at somepoint and he got in fantastic shape for New Moon but neither of things make you good at improv.

No I think it still is. When it's done right, which imo happens quite often.

No I think it still is. When it's done right, which imo happens quite often. Lorne Michaels' view on improv changed when he left the show and when he came back in 1985 it became a one-way ticket to getting fired (just ask Damon Wayans)

I'm not a fan of Twilight, but I really don't see the problem, here. He's a star of a VERY popular movie with teens, and that's a good portion of SNL's target audience.
...seriously, where's the issue?

I don't have an issue with him hosting. But his skill set isn't in the same set for a show based upon live theater. As for SNL not being improv I see what people are getting at. I mis-typed. I didn't mean improv as incompletly unscripted. The show is scripted. However it's live and the best host and cast members are the ones that can make changes on the fly if something is dying. I guess it's semi-prov.

Is this really an issue after 34 years of SNL?
Did Wayne Gretzky have "the skill set" to host? Actually, yes he did. He was famous. That's the ONLY requirement to host. Not acting or improv skills.

Yes, he hosted it. Who hasn't? Kid is famous, looks good, seems like a decent guy, and can act.

I didn't find it a problem. I did have a problem with the January Jones episode, not because of who she is, but because all the words that came out of her mouth sounded so forced, and she was always looking off-camera, like at cue cards. It was just off-putting.
