the entire soundtrack to the 1986 transformers movie. possibly the greatest soundtrack of all the time. but the best music ever in any movie is the music from jaws. JAWS wins this hands down for me, but I was going to say, just pick a movie that John Williams scored. They're pretty much ALL amazing.

Goodfellas made great use of songs by popular artists, and I loved all of the music from Rocky Horror and Don Ellis' work for The French Connection.
Also, Elmer Bernstein's main theme to Wild Wild West was possibly the only worthwhile thing about the movie as a whole.

I love the end credits of Carlito's Way, and the montage of Blow. The start of Watchmen with Dylan was very well done too i thought.

Bitch getting what's coming to her + Bittersweet Symphony = Victory.
Obvious "Cruel Intentions" spoiler, since it's kinda the ending. But if you haven't seen the movie, you probably won't understand why it's powerful or just how powerful it is, and how well the song works in that context.
Also, the scene in Return of the King where the Hobbits kneel to Aragorn and Aragorn says, "My friends...you bow to no one," and kneels, and the rest of the kingdom kneels and the music swells with the Hobbit theme. I'm getting goosebumps just talking about it now. That moment absolutely SLAYS me every time.
Starts at 3:40. Have tissues handy.
That entire series has some of the best scores in movie history (hence my purchase of the boxed set).
And one more nominee, from Return of the Jedi. An epically-tragic motif that sums up the grandeur and tragedy of what it's all come to between father and son, and reiterates Palpatine's villainy in how he's made orchestrated all this.
Starts/swells at about the halfway point.
I really wish they'd incorporated this song into Battle of the Heroes in Episode III like they did with Duel of the Fates. But I suppose the Original Trilogy needs some of its motifs to remain exclusive. I just remember when I listened to the DVD commentary from Ben Burtt talking about how many fans complained after the film was first released because that song wasn't on the soundtrack, but that they later released it with the soundtrack for the Special Edition. I believe the song is called "The Dark Side Beckons," and it really is amazing.

Without a doubt the scene in The Punisher where Mark Collie walks into the diner and sings In Time to Frank. "I'm gonna sing it at your funeral."

None of these are an original score, but my favorite soundtrack is "American Graffiti" because I love all that old music first and foremost, but also enjoyed the movie.
As far as specific scenes, I love the mailbox baseball scene in "Stand By Me" with Jerry Lee's "Great Balls of Fire," and the opening of the Dawn of the Dead remake set to "The Man Comes Around" by Johnny Cash.

The musical score in both Christopher Nolan Batman movies. Especially during the training sequence.

Oh, and the Godfather. Everyone seems to know the main theme, but I always loved the opening music the best.
