Am I the only one who feels like this heel turn is...random?
OK so he lost a fatal fourway, lost another opportunity to win yet another belt run.
Screw it, I'm trying to make something logical out of nothing. I quit.

I think in his mind, Rey cost him the tag titles, Rey got a disputed win on SmackDown, and Rey broke up the pinfall on Taker. Doesn't take a lot to set Dave off.

I think the whole point is that Rey has done nothing wrong.
Batista has always been a douche who acted like a heel anyway so this turn hasn't needed to be a total 360 to make sense.

Dawg, it's because he ain't playin' man.
Huh huh huh, you think he's playin?
Listen, I'm going to be the bigger man here and give you just ONE chance to get out of MY ring. Then, I'm going to cut a 10-minute promo, and then, I'll give you just ONE chance to get out of MY ring.

Batista has never been considered the most cerebral person around though, has he?

I thought it was one of the least random turns in recent memory.
He felt Rey cost him the World Title. In his mind Rey is wrong for not just allowing him to win the title. Given his (kayfabe) personality of always feeling the World Title is his birthright it makes perfect sense.

I disagree. See: His turn from Evolution and his feud/partnership thingy with Eddie And what about from 2006 to today? He did somehow use an injury that occurred after the fact to get out of suspicion for rape. My guess is time travel was involved.

I disagree. See: His turn from Evolution and his feud/partnership thingy with Eddie And what about from 2006 to today? He sucessfully called Shawn Michales out for faking his knee injury at Backlash 08?

And what about from 2006 to today? He sucessfully called Shawn Michales out for faking his knee injury at Backlash 08? Okay, so Batista is smart once every three years or so. So with that in mind we're only two years off another potential Batista brainstorm.

Its along the same lines as his feud with HBK after Wretlemania 24. Flair challenges HBK to the match knowing he retires if he looses. Flair tells HBK not to hold back. HBK wins a hard fought victory at WM.
Batista gets mad at HBK for retiring Flair. Implying that Batista would have just lied down and let Flair pin him.

It seems a little forced and uncharacteristic of him in my opinion. However, I welcome the change because Batista has been pretty stale for years.

A bit random, but I do understand the whole thing. After all, Rey Misterio pretty much ruined his chances of getting the belt due to the whole pin thing.

Rey didn't spend his money getting his tattoos recolored, he only wasted it on Batista's DVD.

I think its awesome. You know, unlike other heel turns, I feel as though Batista has been a good guy for sooo long until he actually broke down and became a heel. I feel like Batista makes a great heel, and that was actually one of his better promos. I also like how he carries himself, its like the smart smarky Batista from 2005, only in heel mode.

It is an illogical turn, but with some of WWE's angles I can tolerate something that doesn't make sense. Especially something positive like this.
