WM11 in Hartford? What, did Bridgeport not want any piece of that action? Kinda hard to hold a PPV in an arena that doesn't exist yet. The real question would've been why New Haven said nay. I mean... come on, the Coliseum, the Special Olympics tie-in would make more sense in the actual home city...

Pretty much any WM that's in an arena not called MSG hurts the atmosphere to me. 'Mania is the one PPV a year you're pretty much guaranteed to sell out regardless of whether it's a 10,000 seat arena or a 90,000 seat stadium so why the hell would the hold any in an arena (other then MSG every 10 years)

Pretty much any WrestleMania since 1997 that hasn't featured either Steve Austin or The Rock in a wrestling role hasn't fealt like WrestleMania. Sad but true.

Pretty much any WrestleMania since 1997 that hasn't featured either Steve Austin or The Rock in a wrestling role hasn't fealt like WrestleMania. Sad but true. You can put Hogan on the same list, but I agree. WMXIX was the last real 'big' one. But WM 24 was close due to ric flair's retirement.

This year WM had to the look but the matches didn't add up to it. HBK vs. Taker was amazing I agree but it wasn't the first time they faced. I was dispointed in a lot of the show as it was going through. MITB wasn't as good as it was in prior years. The Divas battle Royal was horriblely done. Being that A. The Anouncers didn't call half of the Eliminations. B. They didn't anounce who was in it. Plus Kid Rock played way to long and he wasn't that good.
Then it ended with a sad MEed. Orton and HHH's match was just not WM. Both look off there game.

I say 11, 13, and 22 were very lackluster.

Pretty much any WrestleMania since 1997 that hasn't featured either Steve Austin or The Rock in a wrestling role hasn't fealt like WrestleMania. Sad but true. Bingo! Those two bring with them so much star power that just having one of them on the card elevates everything else on it. About Hogan I think it is daft that he hasn't had a match at Wrestlemania in nearly 7 years. His comeback matches against HBK and Orton were wasted at Summerslam as big as that PPV is. Hogan should only have been used at the event he made.

WM just has to be fresh. 25 was one of the least fresh WM's EVER. Orton/HHH already had a well developed feud not too long ago. John Cena Edge and Show had already faced each other in NUMEROUS encounters including LONG feuds between Cena/Show and Cena/Edge. HBK/Taker was fine because they had not faced in 12 YEARS (unless you count Taker/Tista vs Cena/Michaels, which obviously was not singles). Add that to a joke of an IC title match (no match), no tag team, kid rock, and a joke battle royal and there you go. MITB is what it is, a spotfest to get the crowd hot. Hell, even Hardy/Hardy has happened before!!
WM 19 was the last REALLY big one, i agree. HBK's first WM back, and a great build with Y2J. Angle/Lesnar were as anyone, and they had really good build. Rock/Austin final encounter speaks for itself. Hogan/Vince was fun. HHH/Booker was okay, but fresh. And there was some random good tag match if i remember correctly. Probably with Eddie since i don't remember him doing anything else.
20 was still kinda big, but it was fun in the other way with the WCW guys getting their "due". And the hollywood feel made it fun, and they did it up right. Ever since then though it's been really meh and really predictable. HBK and Undertaker have really carried like EVERY WM since then, with their matches ALWAYS being the best in the card by a ton. It's no surprise when you put them in the same match at 25 you get one incredible match and subpar everything else.

How amazing would it be if we had Edge v. Orton for the title this year in a TLC match? The destruction of Rated RKO.

See, the thing is, nobody expected WM 24 to be as good as it was. It was the surprise hit Mania.
On the other hand, WWE promised the moon with WM 25 and it was mediocre. that hurt a lot of people's feelings.
Hell, even Orton and HHH said they could've done better.

From those I've seen 13, 15 (outside of Blassie's speech), 2000, 23 and 25.

25 has been mentioned a lot, but it's definitely the most blatant recent example. 24 felt like a big show, with a lot of drama and, if not fresh, at least interesting match ups. 25 just bored me to tears.

WrestleMania 20 up until the main event.
THEN it felt like a 'Mania.

I agree. The whole thing just felt flat and uninspired. Which is a symptom of WWE these days. Taker vs. HBK was great, but they come from a different era. Nowadays wrestlers are more concerned about camera positions during a match and entrance poses rather than engaging the crowd with great storytelling.

WrestlMania 25 was something that did not feel too big. The unification of the tag belts was taken off. Kid Rock, who is not quite as popualer as he was 10 years ago performed, and the Miss WrestleMania match had Santino (a guy winning), plus the entrances of the divas were not shown. They should have shown them for the returning divas such as Molly Holly and Torrie Wilson.
The main events were essentially rip-offs of WrestleMania 24 except they replaced The Undertaker with The Big Show. Main eventers in 24: Edge, The Undertaker, John Cena, HHH, and Randy Orton. 25: Edge, The Big Show, John Cena, HHH, and Randy Orton.
Do not get me wrong, I am a huge CM Punk mark, but I thought that somebody else should have been able to win the MITB match with Punk being elevated by different means. If nobody knows, CM Punk won the MITB match last year.
Chris Jericho had to wrestle 3 old guys, two of which cannot even do anything.
