If you think Punk can't cut a good promo that's not about drugs then you clearly have a bias against the guy, because he's a great talker in general. If he's handed a mic and has a point to make, he's fantastic. Look at his promo against Batista last year at the Bash. Drugs or alcohol were never brought into the equation. Also, Punk is leaps and bounds better on the mic than Undertaker, Batista, and Randy Orton. They're never taken out of the main event due to lack of decent promos. Yeah, Thats it. If anyone thinks punks promos aren't the greatest thing in the world, It has to be a bias and not an honest opinion. I don't like him, But that has nothing to do with I think his promos are 1 dimensional. Maybe you think all of punks promos are great because your a punk fan? That has to be it. See what I did there? His drug promos against Hardy was done by other wrstlers as well. How is his promos going so far after the Hardy fued? His Hardy promos were overated anyway. So when HHH, Orton, Taker hate threads or post pop up, Is it peoples opinion on the matter or bias on said wrestlers? See, and now you're doing exactly what you're accusing me of, which is blowing things out of proportion. I never said that you had to like CM Punk or his promos. I was calling you out on the fact that you said he was a one-trick pony, which can be proven false. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. I don't give a damn if you like or hate his promos. The fact that you think that he has nothing to work with without using straight edge as a crutch is out and out wrong, sorry. |

Punk, Like Jericho relies on cheap heat and repeating the same rhetoric week in and week out.
All of his good promos in ROH used the straight edge thing and all of his worthwhile WWE promos have used the straight edge thing. Everything else he has spit out has been mediocre at best.
Especially his Batman voice ECW days.

Punk, Like Jericho relies on cheap heat and repeating the same rhetoric week in and week out. All of his good promos in ROH used the straight edge thing and all of his worthwhile WWE promos have used the straight edge thing. Everything else he has spit out has been mediocre at best. Especially his Batman voice ECW days. Like John Cena has dynamic, world shattering promos? He repeats the same crap over and over too. Of course Punks good promos use the straight edge thing. Thats his gimmick. Kinda like saying Takers good promos all talk about him being the Dead Man and taking peoples souls and blah blah...THATS HIS GIMMICK. |

You mentioned Jericho during a discussion about Punk though, so I didn't think it was wrong to mention Cena. People are mentioning other wrestlers in this thread as well. Its a comparison. As far as Punks emotion, its all in the way he says things. He sounds convincing and real in his promos the majority of the time. People like Orton and Batista sound like monotone actors. They dont have any range. Punk does. I agree Taker cut good promos during the ABA days, but he doesn't now. Not that its his fault, but his character isn't going to change so hes stuck cutting deadpan boring stuff. |

The reason I accused you of liking his promos because your a fan is because I wanted you to see what you accused me of. Its my opinion his promos are 1 dimensional and very overated. Even guys like Cena who used to be able to cut great promos sound forced and one note most of the time. You cant go from a great promo guy to a bland, boring promo guy all of a sudden. It isn't the fault of the wrestlers.
Punk is the same way. Great promos on the indies, but the majority of the time in WWE he has been bland because he has no freedom in what he is saying and has to read lines like an actor instead of cutting a promo like a wrestler.

Almost every main event promo is repetitive Some ones i think brins something new every promo in the WWE is, The Miz,Jack Swagger a litte these lasts times,Kofi i dont saw enought,Christian,Regal,Paul Burchill,Hurricane. |
