This could be considered trolling.
And, point of interest, spoilers without warning.

He didn't tap! That evil Vince let loose fire ants into the ring, and Bret was bravely crushing them to protect everyone! DAMN THAT VINCE AND HIS PRIVATE INSECT ARMY!

I'm gonna use this thread to air out a pet peeve of mine.
I HATE when people tap out gently. Like they're bored and just want the guy to get off of them because they're annoyed. Jimmy Snuka did it at Mania.

This could be considered trolling. Did someone say "troll"? Someone did. Must be handing out mod applications On the topic of Troll 2, this is quite possible the second worst movie ever made. This of course is followed by The Room. That pile of garbage had me facepalming the entire movie, in between fits of laughter caused by the terrible acting. The Riff Trax guys have done both movies and they're two of the best!

Did they even tap out back then? Not in the WWF. Taz is actually the first wrestler to make an opponent tap out in American pro wrestling. Before that it was all verbal confirmation with the referee, but I assume they switched to tapping once they realized that it was easier for the audience to clearly see the wrestler give up.

Before that it was all verbal confirmation with the referee, but I assume they switched to tapping once they realized that it was easier for the audience to clearly see the wrestler give up. In the WWF, Shamrock was the guy that started the tradition of forcing the opponent to tap out. Then the tapout was phased in to the regular rules, instead of verbally submitting. By Montreal time the wrestlers in WWF WERE tapping out to submissions. I remember, for instance, off the top of my head at the very Survivor Series in question Ken Shamrock made a couple people tap out in the Elimination Match he participated in, including the Rock. Not sure when it started in WCW exactly but they sorta just adopted it since WWF did if memory serves. The Taz thing is correct though, he was the first wrestler in America to cause tap outs. As far as this thread goes, I am a big Bret fan and I think its no big deal. Anyone still up in arms about Montreal really needs to just let it go.
