Did you like him? Did you like his booking in WWE? Did you see him and Austin on the same level in 1998? Favorite match? Better entrance theme in WCW or WWE? When was the right time to end his streak? Love him as a kid & still do. He was great in WCW. Decent in WWE & Japan. His booking could have been better...but it wasn't as bad as he makes it out to be sometimes. But yes, there was significant room for improvement. No I did not. I never saw WCW/WWE on equal levels. Goldberg was booked differently. Against DDP or Hogan (when he got the belt). Regal in WCW was good as well. WCW for me....entrance was better. Sure as hell wasn't to Nash. But I don't have a better answer.

Did you like him? Dude was awesome.
Did you like his booking in WWE? mehh
Did you see him and Austin on the same level in 1998? Definitely
Favorite match? Either v Sting, or v Hogan, pretty sure both were on Nitros
Better entrance theme in WCW or WWE? WCW, by about a million times
When was the right time to end his streak? I have no idea, but it wasn't at Starrcade '98, and it definitely wasn't to Nash .....or Wrath.

Did you like him? So so. With him basically devoid of personality outside the ring, it limited how much I could like him.
Did you like his booking in WWE? Actually, yes. They got "the streak" out of the way early, and that opened up other things. He was there a year and got a 3 month title reign, a high profile match at Wrestlemania. What more could he do?
Did you see him and Austin on the same level in 1998? Nope. Austin was better and more popular in my eyes
Favorite match? Vs Jericho at Badd Blood?
Better entrance theme in WCW or WWE? WWE. I liked the first chord rather than 10 seconds of hollow drum beats.
When was the right time to end his streak? They needed to get a Sting/Goldberg match on PPV so they could do the Hogan/Warrior type match with a HUGE buyrate. If they did that at Starrcade and Sting won, I'd be fine with that.

I didn't really care for him either way.
Much better than I liked him in WCW.
Not even close. Austin was far bigger in the industry.
Goldberg vs. The Rock at Backlash. Rock really pulled his side of it.
WCW.
I would have had him lose his streak to Chris Benoit, who was kickass between 1997 and 1998.

When was the right time to end his streak? I had to quote this to remember the order of questions. Damn gin ;D. 1) YES. 2)Hell. No. WTF? 3)Absolutely. 4)vs. Hogan in Atlanta. Totally. 5)WCW. The WWE version sounded like an intro to the WCW one. And, really, should only have been just that. But, no... 6)I don't think the WCW streak should ever have ended. It really should've been to either Jericho or Undertaker in WWE and at Wrestlemania, no question. Doing this would, at the very least, have enabled me to give a radically different answer to your second inquiry.

Did you like him? no Did you like his booking in WWE? no Did you see him and Austin on the same level in 1998? I didn't watch wrestling in 1998 but they both had similar looks and Goldberg was probably WCW's Austin and vice versa. Favorite match? hmm I'll go with the Elimination Chamber at Summerslam 03 because I marked when he lost. Or Royal Rumble 2004, because I marked when Lesnar threw him out. Better entrance theme in WCW or WWE? Probably WCW When was the right time to end his streak? I'm not sure since I didn't follow around the time but I think it should've gone to someone who needed the rub (not Nash). I guess I'll hop on the band wagon and say Jericho because I'm a Jericho mark.

Goldberg's biggest problem was that he never seemed to care about the business. Either during his run or after. He seems to me just a failed football player who the stars aligned for and he got in with a hot company at the right time. That's not taking away from his in-ring persona, which was a nice antidote to the NWOverkill going in WCW at the time. That being said:
Did you like him? I took a sabbatical from wrestling from 1992-1997, and my return was to WCW. Yes, I liked him during his streak, but I hated the way it ended and the way he was used once he was just another main eventer.
Did you like his booking in WWE? I saw very little of his WWE run. I was living in Europe, so it was even harder to get into. It wasnt a sabbatical like when I was younger, I just didn't have the time to invest into it and did not see enough (aside from Manias) to judge on how his booking was overall.
Did you see him and Austin on the same level in 1998? In 1998, yes, at the time I was pretty much only watching WCW, but I started watching WWE again in late 98 in the leadup to WM15, and I quickly turned on anything WCW because of how good WWE was in comparison as The Rock and Austin (+ Mick) enthralled me like no other wrestlers have done since and not since Steamboat's WWF run in the late 80s (Macho feud) was I marking harder. By March 1999, I was 100% back to the WWE, as I was when I first started watching wrestling as a kid. This was before DVRs, so you were almost forced to make a choice unless you physically videotaped the other, which I didn't bother doing.
Favorite match? I really can't recall one in particular aside from the Hogan match in the Georgia Dome. I think thats due to the formulaic nature of Goldberg's matches.
Better entrance theme in WCW or WWE? I can't even recall his WWE theme, but the WCW was cool because of the pomp that went along with it. You knew this guy was a big deal.
When was the right time to end his streak? Hard call. It was probably the right time to end it, when it did. I also agree with the previous poster. They should definitely have had another non-superstar (at the time) wrestler end it. Like a Benoit or Booker, etc, as that would have given WCW another immediately legitimate (in the fans eyes) main eventer to help level out the NWO domination. Having Hogan or Nash end it is and was the wrong direction as it does nothing for an established guy.

He crippled Bret Hart because he was mad at Scott Hall. The only reason anybody remembers him is because WCW gave him the "Hogan Push" at the high point of wrestling's popularity.

A fluke ending of the streak by Jericho would be great. Goldberg could still destroy him after the match, but it would have giving wcw Jericho so much to brag about and it would make goldberg's career way more versatile.

Yeah. It was very hit or miss to be honest. About. Like the others in this group, Goldberg vs. DDP. I liked them both. I have no idea when it should've happened, but not when it did.

Did you like him? Overall, yeah.
Did you like his booking in WWE? At the time I was a bit disgruntled. I think much of that was my extreme dislike of Triple H at the time. In hindsight, he was booked about as well as they could've.
Did you see him and Austin on the same level in 1998? Austin ahead, but Goldberg was big news and could've led WCW into the next decade.
Favorite match? Goldberg-DDP, with Goldberg-Sting a credible second.
Better entrance theme in WCW or WWE? It's funny, I always preferred the WCW version but someone put up the WWE version recently and listening again I almost preferred it more. I think the WCW version is the more driving, and that's what I like.
When was the right time to end his streak? On a side note, I think the streak could've been booked a lot better. But as it was, I think I would've had him lose finally at Starrcade the next year, 1999. To go that long, they would've had to have made more of his matches a lot more competitive though, and throw in the odd DQ win/No Contest/Double Countout ending to build heat for the heel.

Did you like him? Did you like his booking in WWE? Did you see him and Austin on the same level in 1998? Favorite match? Better entrance theme in WCW or WWE? When was the right time to end his streak? When he was used right, I loved him. He was entertaining as hell and could wrestle well when given the chance. I saw no problem with it at all, I think the whole 'Triple H screwed him' thing is ridiculous conisdering it took three guys and a sledgehammer to bring him down after he just pinned three guys and broke bulletproof glass. Nowhere near. Good question, possibly the one with Rock - or maybe that six-man battle royal they had where he MURDERED Orton. Couldn't care less. In WCW? I'm not sure who would've been right, really. In WWE? I think it went okay but maybe the streak should've lasted longer.

I was into his initial WCW streak, though it got lame when he started beating guys like Meng in the main event on Nitro.
Not all of the time, but he was made to look like the appropriate monster in that Elimination Chamber match.
I thought kayfabe that Goldberg would kick Austin's ass, but I was more an Austin fan because he was so fun.
vs. DDP at Halloween Havoc
WCW no doubt.
Whenever they were ready to push Booker T or Benoit. The streak was long enough, but Nash shouldn't have been the guy to end it.

That's a lot of questions you're asking there. I usually only answer the maximum number of one. So here it goes...
Back then, nobody was better at ruling the ring as Goldberg. He made Steve Austin look like Jackie Gayda. In fact, I would go as far to say that if there was no Goldberg, there would be no Steve Austin. When I figure out how that could possibly make any sort of sense, I'll get back to you on how exactly that would work.

Did you like him? I didn't at first. I warmed up to him later once he started doing longer matches and I realized he was actually very athletic and a pretty good wrestler. Especially nowadays, when I look at a Cena or Batista I realize how good Goldberg was.
Did you like his booking in WWE? Not really. It wasn't awful but not great either, like most WCW guys they brought in.
Did you see him and Austin on the same level in 1998? Yes. I dont see why anyone wouldn't. Unless they just didn't like WCW.
Favorite match? The face vs. face DDP match, I remember hw worked well with Sting too.
Better entrance theme in WCW or WWE? WCW by far.
When was the right time to end his streak? Not sure really. Definitely not against Nash, I think he should have had a face vs. face feud with Sting and that would have been a good time to end it. I dont think a heel by cheating was the right way to do it.
Also, why are people saying Jericho? He wasn't that far above jobber level in WCW. Goldberg losing to him at the time would have been ridiculous.

Did you like him? - Yes Did you like his booking in WWE? - In hindsight, it was good Did you see him and Austin on the same level in 1998? - More than Austin as I preferred WCW at the time Favorite match? - vs. Raven for the US Title Better entrance theme in WCW or WWE? - WCW, but WWE's was a grower When was the right time to end his streak? - Had WCW kept the Warrior and pushed him right, at Starrcade 1998.
I personally can't see why the big guy gets marked as 'over-rated'. How many big men could move like this? His role was that of an absolute killer and he played the part perfectly.
