John Cena hated that I used the word "vomit" but to me thats what his championship belt made me do.

Also keep in mind the belt doesn't actually spin anymore.. Still godawful gaudy. It honestly looks like what a heel like the MDM would carry with all the diamonds and gold.

In the related videos, there's the one where Edge unvails the Rated R title, also it's where he debuts his "Wrong" rampage.

WWE is not known for having its finger on the pulse of popular culture. In fact, the time it takes for bulletins on popular culture developments to reach WWE should probably be measured with a system somewhat akin to light years. Light years tell distance, not time. ;D I'm aware of that. I'm trying to place in my readers' minds the image of an enlightenment which is only dimly perceived by an observer located at an extremely remote distance after a long passage of time. It's an illustration, alright? Poetic license? But let me just boil my post down to bare essentials: The WWE is usually not up to speed on pop culture trends. There. That gets the job done.

Didn't mind it then, because I assumed it was just a temporary thing. When it became permanent is when I started to take issue with it

I keep hoping against hope that JBL comes back for ONE last run with the WWE Title, if only to see him drop that piece of overblinged garbage into a trash can and blow it up, like he did to Cena's US Title. THAT went back to normal when Cena lost it...why hasn't this belt, on any of the occasions it's left Cena's side? I mean, I would endure a JBL run just to get rid of that eyesore of a belt. And to whoever said that this title looks too much like the Million $ Belt...I agree. Difference is, it made sense for DiBiase's rich, conceited ass to make his own title that looked like Donald Trump's money clip. Cena, a supposed tough guy Marine, who himself calls his rapper past a "silly stage in my life", though? In my opinion, NO.

I can't stand the big "CHAMP" on it. As long as the belt feeds into Cenas gimmick I can't buy anyone else as the champion.

I can't stand the big "CHAMP" on it. As long as the belt feeds into Cenas gimmick I can't buy anyone else as the champion. It would have been like them keeping the Smoking Skull belt design around until Cena changed it. It would have made no sense to see the myriad guys in between carrying Austin's old belt. Same goes when ANYONE other than Cena is carrying that title around, IMO.

Its not anywhere near that big of a deal. How is it not?The wwe title (according to the WWE I prefer smackdown and ecw myself.) is the most important title on the most important show in the WWE universe and it looks like garbage. Add in the fact it's called the "spinner" belt and it doesn't spin and you've got a myraid of bad messages being sent to the fans from that belt.

The responses in this thread think wayyy more about that belt than the average fan does. People on the internet are the only ones that call it "the spinner belt" anyway.

I get your point, but that's beginning to not be a valid excuse for the WWE. I mean, the WCW DVD sold like hotcakes...you don't see them bringing it back, do you? Cena's rapper phase is done with. The kids know it. So why hang on to this relic from those days?

The problem is, those replica spinner belts sell like crazy, so it's not going to be changed anytime soon. The WWE doesn't care about us fans, it cares about merchandise. That sounds mixed-up. Since the replicas sell like crazy, there's clearly a ton of fans more than eager to pay for them and WWE clearly cares about that to produce them. I don't want one, seems you and others don't either, but I don't feel the WWE 'doesn't care' about me. I just don't want this product...and I'm not against those that do.

I really hate it... it only looks decent with Cena. Everyone else looks pretty stupid walking around with it. The only other person that could pull it off is if Booker T came back and won it and it was a picture of him that spins. ;D

I'll say what I will always say about this belt.
It doesn't look THAT bad. But a truly great world title can be worn by anybody and still look prestigious. Take the World Heavyweight Title. Everyone from Ric Flair through to Cena himself through Edge, Scott Steiner and The Rock, Sting, everybody has worn that and it still looked amazing.
But could Ric Flair wear the spinner belt and not look ridiculous?
Edge, Orton, Trips and Cena can pull it off - but could Dusty Rhodes? Could Undertaker? Could even Shawn or The Rock? Austin?
Nope.

Cause he's the only Cena Fan? No, because he seems to be the most die hard Cena fan. Understatement of the year. Also of course the replicas will sell......becuase it's the current belt, if wwe changed it tomorrow kids would start buying the new oneb.
