Wasn't Jericho pounding on a door... and it clearly opened and Jericho had to pull it back shut? Yeah. That's the one. In fact, it's detailed in The Death of WCW, and even mentions that somebody else peeked out, and Jericho had to ignore that guy who just opened another door, as well as Wrath chasing him and then they just started walking back normally when they thought the cameras were done rolling footage. Man, in this department, WCW truly excelled. i know this is getting away from blown cues, but this kind of thing happened to steve austin once when he was feuding with the hart foundation (so sometime in '97). at the end of a raw, austin was trying to get into the hart dressing room. the implication was that the door was locked, but austin accidentally opened it slightly. he let it close and pretended it was still locked when trying to get in. very amusing.

As long as we're bringing up WCW moments, I don't know that there's anything more apropos than when Russo put all the cruiserweights in the 'Pinata on a pole' match and 7 seconds into it somebody gets whipped into the corner and the pinata falls to the ground. And they just continued to fight. So terrible.

Please say there's a vid of that That is probably the best Spinal Tap reference of all time, definitely the best one in professional wrestling.

... and any excuse to relive this again... and again... One of my favorite interview train wrecks in the history of our sport This reminds me of a backstage segment in 2000 when Pat Patterson walked out of the Rock's locker room while Rock was being interviewed by Kevin Kelly.

Another horrible moment like this from WCW was a steel cage match between Dr Death and Jerry Only from The Misfits:
The rest of the Misfits and Vampiro attack Death's manager Okalahoma on the outside - the idea is that Death can't get out of the cage to help him, but he clearly opens the door as the attack is happening. So I guess he kinda calls an audible and throws Only out of the cage, giving him the win.
The whole time the commentators try to cover for the mistake. Its really stupid.

Chyna at Summerslam 1997 The Steel cage match between Mankind and Hunter Hearst Helmsley.. Chyna botched a spot, later in the match she was supposed to try to pull HHH out of the ring when Mankind exited over the top of the cage, she messed up and went in about 4 minutes too early and instead of pulling Triple H out she just threw her arms up in the air and walked out.

How about RR 96. I keep mentioning it, I know. But no-one seems to remember this: HBK gets 'eliminated' from the Rumble by Vader. But Vince covers for him. "Is he gonna dump him? Is Shawn going out?" -press slam to the outside floor "No."
And when Todd Pettengil's doing the warm-up show at WMX, Vince interrups over the headset, and Todd thinks it's a radio pirate. Someone must have footage of these two.

Wrestlemania 18 - Austin stunners Scott Hall, then has to do it again, because Hall doesn't go down: I'm not entirely sure that was a botch. The whole way the match played out.... I'm just not sold that it's a botch. I think it's a Double Stunner. It's too smooth to have been a botch especially with the mega sell job by the sell master himself, Scott Hall. There is no way Hall would NOT have sold the first stunner as if he was shot by a cannon. The best thing the guy did was sell. This is the same guy that would sell the Giant just when he was walking in the same ring!

While WCW is fresh on our minds Revenge of the ring steps Love how the commentators are trying to salvage the incident. That wasn't a missed cue BTW, that was a botch.

I just wish they would be a little more consistent. In other years, someone already eliminated would come back in and throw out the guy who eliminated him and it would count. (Kurt Angle and SHawn Michaels being the first that come to mind.) I guess it doesn't count if the guy's going to win the match. That`s one of my biggest pet peeves with the rumble matches. They change to rules from year to year.

With Angle/Michaels though, it was supposed to be that Shawn was so beat up by Angle that he couldn't continue, not that he wasn't allowed to.
