Interesting read! I just finished his book recently and I'd probably buy his second one if he wrote it. Lots of great stories there.
Surprised there wasn't much praise for Punk! Figured Bret would be a fan of him. You never really know with him though.

I think the most significant revelation in here is that Bret watches WWE matches on YouTube.

I would pay a ridiculous amount of money to see this match.

Somebody should let AJ Styles know Bret said that, I bet he'd have an awesome reaction.

Great read. I have so much respect for Bret, probably more than any other wrestler aside from maybe Mick Foley.
I wish as many people as possible could read this so we dont need to read all these ignorant discussions online from people who STILL say Bret is a bitter old man who never got over Montreal. He let it go before most wrestling fans did and while many still refuse to.

I actually just read this last night, pretty interesting, especially the comments on watching the current wrestling product and his favorite wrestlers. In previous interviews I always thought he said he didn't watch it anymore. I am currently reading his book and I am about half way through it, great read so far. As far as Montreal Bret has been past that for a while now, especially with Vince. However with Micheals and HHH, he is far from being on good terms with and isn't showing any signs of burying the hatchet.

Yeah, the whole idea of Bret being this angry bitter guy needs to go away for good. He obviously still likes wrestling and I think it's classy of him to say how much he likes Shawn Michaels as a wrestler despite their personal history.

Bret's not bitter at all. Bruno Sammartino...now that's bitterness. I loved this interview, stuff like this and his book help me forget about the unfortunate last bit of his career and remember how great he really was, for my money the best of all time at putting together a match. On that DVD, each match is so well thought out, logical, dramatic, and excellently executed, it's just masterful. The fact that Kevin Nash is even on a DVD consisting of someone's "greatest matches" speaks volumes about Bret's ability to work anyone and create and tell a compelling story in the ring.

A pretty conciliatory tone in that interview. I'd love to see Bret guest host Raw, or make some sort of appearance, maybe even with the Hart Dynasty. But even better, I'd love for him to go back in a booking role.
He would have so much to give the business, in an intellectual capacity, and there's no one better at making matches tell a story. He's right about Orton, in that interview, and I'm sure he could give you a run down of what the WWE could do better with any of their top guys.
And yes, yet more evidence that Bret isn't the bitter, Montreal obsessed man that so many of his detractors like to claim he is. He talks about it if asked, and here it sounds like he pretty much brushed it off as ancient history. His differences with Michaels and HHH go much deeper than that single incident.

I seriously doubt Bret goes back to the WWE for more than a one night thing, such as Raw guest host or a Wrestlemania appearance. If he still despises HHH and Micheals he would be completely useless as a booker in the WWE. It sounded like, especially with the people he said he would want to wrestle if he got in the ring one more time, that he would go to TNA if he came back to wrestling as a full time career(obviously not in ring) or even multiple appearances. The only problem is he is not a big fan of Russo.
