My only gripe was that he kept referring to the WWE Championship as the "Heavyweight Championship" which to me calls to mind the big gold belt currently on the SD brand. But other than that, he was top notch and everything else was generally fantastic.

I'd rather have Jesse Ventura rambling about how his wife's fear of intimacy has forced him and his therapist to watch videotapes of him and his wife having sex on the mic for ten minutes than Jerry Lawler spend one second praising some generic nu-metal band as his favorite artist that we all know he's knows absolutely nothing about.

It's these kind of claims that really show the fine line between the generations. The one about Piper sounding drunk also made me chuckle. I'm getting old IT'S MY RULES OR THE HIGHWAY

I think I just prefer acting (Vince, Stone Cold, Orton, Triple H, Trish, what have you) to whatever Jesse was doing. It must be generational.

He's the only guest host that didn't sound wooden...or lit up on something...when he was talking. I just absolutely loved his banter with Vince when he was announcing the battle royal. I'm hoping King and Cole took notes. +1 It really sounded as if he had been with the WWE the entire time. As rusty as Vince was, I would take him and Jesse Ventura over Cole and King every day of the week. Can you imagine a team of JR and Ventura in their prime? Would've been great.

As someone who grew up on (or at least aged to), 80s WWF I could have listened to Jesse read the phone book and thought it was awesome. I thought Piper was way more wierd/rambling than Jesse was. Totally agreed. Ventura's rambling was 1000x greater than anything any god awful crappy WWE announcer has done in the last 10 years.
