I'll stop watching ECW if he does.

Yes,and Christian is my favorite wrestler. However,he can't hold the belt forever and Shelton would be a good choice to have a run with it. Like a few others have said,he's been a good company man and a pretty good wrestler so I see no reason to not give him a run with it. Christian can then move on to Raw or Smackdown and start new feuds there.

No.
Shelton's done remarkably little on ECW thus far, face turn aside. Giving him the title out of nowhere, when less than a month ago he wasn't even being treated as a contender, would just make both Christian and the belt look insignificant.
Speaking of Christian, he's doing very well in his role, and the longer he's able to hold onto the belt, the stronger it makes him look. And contrary to what a lot of you seem to expect (or at least hope), I'd say the chances that he'll be immediately thrust into the main event scene on Smackdown and/or RAW if he leaves ECW now are extremely slim.

The same can be said about Sheamus and he wasn't a title contender a month ago. Please note,I'm not saying this because you have him in your avatar. He's just done absolutely nothing since coming to Raw and he's getting a title shot already. Shelton has been around longer than Sheamus has so I don't think it would be a bad thing if he got the title even for a small run. I do agree that I don't think Christian would be immediately thrust into the main event on either show if he went. He'd be an upper midcarder to start and I could see him feuding with Punk or Miz if he went to one of the other shows.

And Sheamus isn't (well, almost certainly isn't) winning the title from Cena at TLC. Even as a fan of his, I don't think making him WWE champion this suddenly would be a good move. I have no problem with Shelton getting a title shot, especially not in a ladder match, where he'll certainly shine. I think it would be a very poor decision to have him WIN the ECW title right now, with so little in the way of buildup, and when a lot more mileage can still be gotten out of Christian.

No, no, no, a thousand times NO.
I'm honestly surprised Shelton is still even on the roster when I tuned back in earlier this year. He's done nothing of relevancy, he's had a mix of wins and losses all year, his mic work sucks, and the last time he held a title, the US belt, his matches consisted of him defending against guys like Jimmy Wang Yang, and when he did lose, they were in tag matches with the main event.
Shelton hasn't been relevant since the last time he won the IC title, and even then WWE was confused with what to do with him. None of the feuds he had furthered his character, unless you want to consider Chris Jericho's song about him character development.
Also, while he's had one or two spots in MITB that have stuck out...keep in mind that all the attention wasn't just on him, and others have had equally good moments as well. I can't imagine Shelton going into this kind of match without botching at least five spots.

well it's like this. I don't think it would be the best idea ever. I think there are plenty of guys who would make a better ECW champ. Regal comes to mind. But really though, in a certain sense I think I might could work. What it would take would be a tremendous program with someone who could really pull off a good series of matches with Shelton.
There was a time I wanted Shelton to be a top guy. Back in the day in my eyes, he could do no wrong. But after a bland heel run and a couple of years of what I would consider phoning it in, I got to say no.
There's really no reason for him to have it at this point.

Since I don't get cable, I really want to see Christian drop the belt and come over to Smackdown. Christian vs Chris Jericho for the WHC=Gold. Plus, Shelton deserves an ECW title run. Even if its just for a month.

I think a win for Benjamin would be more like a "Thank you" run like Chavo, Kane, and Matt Hardy got and not a "we're building you up for better things" Like Punk, Henry, and Christian.
I think Christian has made the title important again and I hope their Ladder Match Kicks ass

I honestly want Shelton to win. Like haj said, it would be more like a "thank you" run for the work he's done.
However, I would LOVE for the "Thank you" run to turn into a "You're getting built up" run. Either give Shelton a mouthpiece or convince The Rock to teach Shelton how to cut a fantastic promo, but I think that's the only thing holding him back right now. He's got the athletic ability, he seems natural being out there, he just needs the promo skills that every WH and WWE Champion has had (save the guy we're not supposed to remember...).

I voted yes, I think he would be a great champion. Granted he's not a great interview, but neither is Rey Mysterio and plenty of other guys. He's proven time and time again that he can deliver the goods in the ring, and as long as he's booked against heels that can get good heat the fans will respond.

Yes, this is the time to take the strap off of Christian to move him to Smackdown, while Shelton will be a steady hand to help develop the new guys on ECW. Christian as a main-event babyface will help Smackdown A LOT. At first I didn't, but now I actually agree with this. Nobody has stepped in to fill the void that Jeff Hardy left.

Christian is my favorite wrestler right now, and even I say yes.
Its time for him to drop the belt. His reign has been great and whoever wins it from him is going to get a rub and look good after such a long run. Shelton is also known to excel in Ladder Matches.
So imagine if Shelton and Christian steal the show in a great match, Shelton wins and then actually gets a good push as champion putting on great matches after that on PPV? It could do a world of good for him. Christian can move on to the bigger things we all know he deserves and is capable of, he makes Shelton look like a million bucks in the process and perhaps gives him a chance to really be made, assuming he doesn't Matt Hardy his title reign.
A win win, IMO.
