The blame has to go with Vince here I'm afraid. They agreed a settlement with the WWF not to promote overseas (I believe that's correct, maybe outside North America or in the UK) using the WWF initials or the scratch logo. Then, in the attitude era they decided to totally ignore the agreement , the WWF sued and we now have the current situation.
I think the blurring has improved since they started the archive releases in 02/03. Compare something on those or the older anthologies to some of the recent stuff. I watched E&C vs the Hardys from No Mercy 99 (Edge DVD) the other day and didn't really notice it, compared to Royal Rumble 2000 which is really quite bad.

But remember, Vince started the petty bullcrap first. Had he not violated his end of the agreement in a fit of hubris, this wouldn't be happening now. I agree that both sides need to grow up and move on...but Vince is the one to blame for this, as far as what I've read leads me to believe. Quite. The two companies had a legal agreement - Vince broke it, and got himself sued as a result. Had the World Wildlife Fund broken the agreement, you can bet your life Vince would have gone down the same route. Exactly. Blame Vince, he's the one that reneged.

Why would you donate to the WWF. It is groups like that that say that polar bears are going extinct even though the number of polar bears have increased in the last few years. citation needed. Complaining about the blurs is like complaining about the rain. Yeah, it kind of annoying, but there's nothing you can do about it and it's not even a small deal.

Seriously if it's just about the 3 letter term, then Roth has a few Pissed-off Irishmen to deal with and the WWE needs to worry about a few folks that are "Straight Outta Compton" Like him?

They are several DVDs I would have bought if not for the blurring
To me its always noticable
I don't get why the scratch logo isn't blurred in UK DVD releases like tagged classics though......I'd have thought that be first to get blurred

And I'm known as one of the more vocal blur-haters in these parts. I flat out refuse to purchase any DVD or set that has them. I understand why they have to do it, but have you seen what WrestleMania X7 looks like on the Anthology??? They should be embarrassed to be actually charging people money for something that looks that bad.

I cannot imagine what it looks like blurred. There are scratch logos literally EVERYWHERE, and the word "WWF" is uttered just about every five minutes. Yikes.

I really don't understand why the scratch logo has to be blurred, but the block logo is a-okay. I mean, they both mean the exact same thing, what's the significance of one over the other? Scratch logos don't remind me of endangered species, wtf?

Also, the reissue of WrestleMania 2000 was in the Anthology set.

And to add "My Way" getting dubbed over with some generic crap. I love my original WM X-7 as well, I watch it at least once or twice a year.

I have a lot of WWF era VHS and a good amount of DVD's, but I do regret my 2001 mindset of "Eh, what's the rush to get the new PPV's on DVD?"

Quite simply, get over it.
It's been that way for a long time, and will likely continue to be that way. It's a necessary evil that has never bothered me for a single second. I watch old DVD's for the great characters, great storylines, and great matches.
I refuse to sit there counting the blurs, or getting angry about dubbed themes, I enjoy the product for what it is.
I'm still amazed that people let this bother them so much, I accept it as part of the product, and as such, i'm able to enjoy the product a hell of a lot more than people who seem to go out of there way to be angry.

I don't mind most of the dubbed music but sometimes the blurs are just far too distracting,

Why can't you enjoy all of the good things about the DVD's. For me, they take me back to a time when wrestling was at its absolute peak, and a blurred turnbuckle, or edited entrance theme isn't gonna change that

I see no purpose in purchasing something for nostalgia if it's not exactly the way I remember it. And seriously, that logo was EVERYWHERE from 98-02, not just on the turnbuckles. I remember someone posting a screengrab fro the WM2000 disc of the anthology that had at least half the picture covered in blurs. I'm not going to get into an argument with you, if you can enjoy these altered discs, then, hey, by all means do so. But I wouldn't pay a nickel for them.

Actually, I think I might already have that on VHS. It's the win over the Rock on RAW, right? Yeah, I think I have that. ;D
