It was an awesome heel gimmick and they seemed like psychopaths when they did things like put HBK through a table. That said, getting put into panties and shipped back to OVW in a big box could be inducted.

I loved The Spirit Squad

I hate to say it, but I liked the Spirit Squad too. They were good heals that I thought were over at the time. Then right when I thought the WWE has made some new, young stars came the dreaded destroyer of pushes.
The guy who if your young and "up-and-coming" never want to do a feud with.
The man who has buried more people then an undertaker during war....Triple H.
I hope Shamus read this induction. Because that might happen to you.

The Spirit Squad, while definitely wrestlecrap, was wrestlecrap that worked. People hated those guys, and for the right reasons. The group had no business at all lasting as long as it did.

Well look at the bright side. One member of the SS tried to get into Cindy Margolis' panties (Kenny Dykstra), and the other one is probably having nightmares about it now that he's given a decent push now (Dolph Ziggler).

Wasn't Kenny with Mickie James at one point?
Anyway, I actually kind of liked the Spirit Squad. I watched Vengeance 2006 a while back and forgot the cheesy awesomeness that these guys had. Sure, they were really cheesy, but they did it so well, plus they were all good in the ring.

One of the things that annoyed me about the Spirit Squad in hindsight is that it really stopped a talented guy who never got a decent chance in the WWE: Johnny Jeter. Here was a guy who was coming off what was arguably one of the greatest heel turns in OVW history, him turning his back on his partner Matt Cappotelli, and having a vicious blood feud with Matt as a result. He was OVW champion, everyone hated him...
...And then he turned up as a male cheerleader. Boom. WWE career comes to a dead halt. I really had him pegged for big things up until, and even through the introduction of the group. And then they gave it to Ken Doane. In fact, it's interesting to note that none of them have had any kind of recovery from this except for Nick Nemith, AKA Mr. Dolph Ziggler, and it's a shame, because all of them, with the exception of Mitch, were pretty talented guys.
For that, I'm never going to forgive creative for coming up with the Spirit Squad.

By the way, since RD had pondered it in the SS induction, here's how the age math works out to the best of my knowledge Between the Spirit Squad and Flair and Piper.
Johnny-25 Nicky-25 Kenny-20 Mitch-24 Mikey-23
Total combined age: 117
Flair-57 Piper-52
Total combined age: 109
Ooooo, so close! If only they had an 8 year old waterboy!

I liked the spirit squad too, it's a shame they didn't use more cheerleader offence though as the few times they used the trampoline were great.

I disagree with that induction because it was meant to be annoying, and got over because of it. To me, if it got over, it negates induction(with the exception of Momma Benjamin).

What a bunch of irritating dorks. I remember Mikey doing some crazy sommersault/moonsault off a turnbuckle once which was cool and made me wonder why they didn't split them up and give them all silly gimmicks. Kenny Dykstra was the only one I guess they were worried about and he didn't last long-that I can remember.

I thought they were funny and annoying. And Mitch was useless.

I thought they were funny and annoying. And Mitch was useless. I love when they made him come out and basically admit it. "I'm Mitch, and I...suck!"

I really loved the Spirit Squad.
.....Okay, maybe I'm too tired for my own good right now. I just started having creepy thoughts about Kane and Dolph Ziggler.

I hated them. The tag titles wouldn't get you a warm cup of tobacco spit at the pawn shop on a trade in, but I still felt 5 guys sharing two belts was still powerful enough to devalue a long dead division.

Didn't one of them forget his name in one of the intro videos?
