People get old and they die. Nobodies death should be considering more significant than anyone elses...and I'm sick of people acting as though a celebreties death is somehow more important than the millions of other people who die every day.

No one is demeaning another persons death by speaking about the death of a famous person. If a celebrity has an effect on someones life there isn't a damn thing wrong with paying condolences.

Not from what I saw last year. People were demeaning other peoples death by paying respect to a dead celebrity? When? When does "RIP Michael Jackson" mean "f*** every other dead person?" If someone dies who tons of people know it'll get more press and people wishing condolence..it's a mathematical equation not one demeaning something else. I remember when Eddie Guerrero died assholes were saying the same thing...."people die every day." f*** that..if a person touches your life it's okay to pay respect...and even if they didn't there is nothing wrong with showing respect, famous or not.

Well, it proves that every life, no matter how seemingly small, has a roll to play that may make a difference.
I admit the title of the thread is overstating, especially given recent personal losses here on the board, but it's still tragic. I apologize only for the title, not the sentiment.

Wow, chill out dude. I'm not even going to bother trying to explain what I'm talking about to you, since I can already tell you won't bother reading anything I have to say without flipping out.

Alright gents, simmer it. This line of discussion won't lead anywhere productive. Leave this thread for well wishes or discussing the deceased in question.

An amazing woman who did something to help two families that almost guranteed certain death if caught. An amazing woman.

What do you suggest sir? Either we ignore every single death on this forum, or post a thread about EVERY SINGLE DEATH. Pfft, there aren't laws against mourning are there?

Sorry, but I don't know Sally from North Dakota or Pete from Timbuktu. As I'm sure most people here don't either. Why make a thread about Joe Schmo's death when nobody knows who you are talking about? We make threads and talk about celebrity deaths because they are people that we all share a common bond with through enjoying their work. If you notice there are people here who make threads about when their family members and/or friends have passed and I'm sure they feel worse about losing a loved one than losing a person they used to watch on a screen. But on the topic of the thread. I started reading The Anne Frank Diary a little while ago but I haven't picked it up in a while. But from what I read so far, it seems like she was a very smart child with a lot of will power and determination.
