I've seen that has NO critic quotes on the DVD box.
Not one.
Not even a, 'It's a Thrill Ride a Minute!' by Joe Blow from the Bumfrick Times.
They couldn't get ANYONE to say anything positive?

Hear what 80's mainstay Howard Hesseman has to say about it... "I love it."

Why was this movie so bad? Audiences generally don't like EGGS on their FACE. I loved it. I think a lot of people expected a straight adaption, but it was just another vehicle for Frank Miller's obsessions and fetishes.

I don't know, I still don't think that's as bad as when Best Buy was stocking Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. starring David Hasselhoff, they had to slap on a sticker saying something like "From some guy who worked on Batman Begins!"
I never really gave The Spirit a chance because I already saw Sin City. I don't need to see the same movie twice, even if it did have Samuel L. Jackson as a Nazi with 4-barreled guns. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that this would be the closest we'd ever get to a "The Goddamn Batman" movie. I still haven't seen it, BTW.

I liked it too, but I seem to only like things that everyone else hates, so there you go.

Why was this movie so bad? Dialogue that makes you watch to tear out your eyes and stuff them in your ears. Writing a 4th grader could do better. Visuals remiiscent of a bad acid trip. An attractive female cast that will convine you they did something other than act to get their roles. Overall just a waste of a few hours.

I liked The Spirit. I thought the hatred directed towards it is a little over done. It's just a tounge in cheek movie.

I liked The Spirit. I thought the hatred directed towards it is a little over done. It's just a tounge in cheek movie. Because it was very poorly written and very unlike the source material.

Well, they had to retract my stellar review when I complained that the periods used in the sentence did not convey the pause, as if searching for words, that I had intended it to but instead made it look like I said a lot more. "It's certainly a....movie."

Wow they could not even taken something out of context. I mean for example:
Text in Bold is what you would put on the film's DVD box. 'It looked like the audience were on the edge of their seats. Turned out they were just putting their coats on before leaving while shouting 'Yeah f*** this Movie!' - Orion Pax, Cybertron Tribune

I liked The Spirit. I thought the hatred directed towards it is a little over done. It's just a tounge in cheek movie. I had fun watching it too, though I can and do understand the rage directed towards it. It OUGHT to have been given a better representation than it was, but for what it was, at least it was entertaining trash. This is actually one of the movies I point out when people bitch about how BAD Watchmen was. I tell them it COULD have been done like the Spirit was....and by and large, NO ONE would have wanted that.
