So I bought this thing several months ago; don't ask me why I never returned it. First and foremost, the damn thing doesn't even have an 'ON/OFF' switch, just a power button, a timer button, a 'MAX HEAT' button, and two other buttons that don't seem to have any actual purpose in life. See, the thing about any gadget having an 'ON/OFF' switch is what? So you can turn it on and off at will. Well, when Sunbeam made this thing, they must have thought that catchphrase was talking about the machine's will because it turns on and off when it damn well pleases, if at all. Last night was a prime example--before going to bed, I set this thing to be on at 75° for 12 hours. It was on for 45 seconds before it said "Nah" and shut itself off, not to turn back on for the remainder of the night. The result is that I now have a cold. This thing is such a colossal dick that it made me sick just because I wanted it to work properly. I hit it with an axe kick and knocked it clean off its standing pedestal. That felt good to do.

I have the exact same problem with my space heater and I freaking hate it. Damn Honeywell!

on the reverse side, i loove my space heaters (even though they are 20+ years old) since my parents do not allow me to turn the heat on.

The internal thermometer is the reason why it's shutting off.
It thinks it's already at 75°.
And how the hell were you able to axe kick it?

Mine's a "Marvin" or "Martin", it's about 12 years old or so. Works great, but I can't put it near me or anything else because it's a serious fire hazard. Hell, I have to keep it off the floor otherwise it'll toast the carpet.
