So the $64,000 question is: Will HHH be playing Thor?

As much as I want Triple H to do it, look at the facts:
Samuel Jackson, Edward Norton, Robert Downey Jr., Triple H.
One of these things is not like the other.

I kind of hope they base it on the Ultimate universe Thor. I actually hope not, I like the Ult. Thor, but IMO Thor from 616 is a bit more interesting, especially now in his new series.

From what I remember, the Vaughn plans for Thor was it to be set during the Viking age. Would you like that direction to stay or be more in tune with Thor's origin with Donald Blake?

I despise the ulitmate version of Thor, and would much prefer that they do the regular version instead.

So the $64,000 question is: Will HHH be playing Thor? With Kenneth Branagh directing this thing, either: a) it could be anyone, even a real acclaimed actor person, since Branagh would bring huge legitimacy to this movie; or b) it'll be Branagh. Either way, no HHH. That doesn't break my heart.

Despite the Variety article referencing Donald Blake, all rumors about Protosevich's script say that it's set in Asgard, so Thor will be in god mode throughout.

Kenneth Branagh is directing? That seals it, Thor is going to be a good film.
Branagh's version of Hamlet is the version I love the most.

Shame Branagh himself can't severely bulk up, get in a time machine and drop a few years and also play the lead.

I enjoyed "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" which was directed by Branagh. I didn't love it, per se, but I enjoyed it. So, uh, there's that.

From what I remember, the Vaughn plans for Thor was it to be set during the Viking age. Would you like that direction to stay or be more in tune with Thor's origin with Donald Blake? I don't think I would like that, because I think it would turn the film into a Conan-style fantasy/action picture and make the Marvel Comics Thor character irrelevant. The Donald Blake thing is an odd story that translates awkwardly to any medium, be it comics, cartoons, or movies, but people that are really into it will probably like it as long as it's true to the source material. The old Stan Lee stories are excellent, and any film adaption of those stories and characters would make for a movie very pleasing to Thor fans. If you haven't guessed by now, I'm a fan myself, and I'm really looking forward to this. Even a bad Thor film is something I'd like to see, so if it's good, I will be really thrilled.
