Yeah I'll go see this.
Just Mr. J.J. Abrams, lay off the Star Wars stuff, ok? I get it, its the only Sci-Fi you and your clique grew up knowing instead of folks like me and others who love Star Wars, but know its not the only sci-fi thematic flavor out there.
What next, Kirk has to go see a master captain in exile to hone his skills? Spock gets captured by the Romulans? Will Scotty get dismembered and then reassembled?
Stay tuned!

I wonder if they could just skip over the OS saga and just do TNG. That might be interesting, but it might seem like a letdown to go from badass lover Kirk to diplomatic and proper Picard. Not going to happen. The core actors from last year's Star Trek are signed on for multiple films. Besides, people who are just getting into Star Trek because of the 2009 movie would be alienated if they just up and changed all of it to TNG characters. Oh yeah, I know. I just think it would be interesting to see a hopefully "non sucking young Picard like that one from Nemesis."

Yeah, I'm hoping we won't see Khan or any other recycled plots. We've got a young version of the original crew and a revitalized concept of what Star Trek can be. Let's not waste that on the same old, same old (and this is coming from someone who's never really enjoyed Star Trek save for TNG and maybe some of Deep Space Nine).

Hate to use the ole useless cliche, but It's all about the execution.Honestly, without breaking the politics rule here by being overtly referential, I would like to see this new Trek be inspired by contemporary news and issues and make a comment on them. Much like that program did for issues relating to back in the 1960s, or even Trek VI did for 1991. Star Trek has always been a political beast.
