Usually when I read or hear something about a specific George Carlin album, it is Class Clown. It certainly is a classic, but are there any other GC fans who prefer FM/AM more? I prefer the latter for its small room feel, the stuff about advertising, and because I think the material is funnier. Class Clown is a wonderful example of Mr. Carlin's mastery of language/ telling a story, but I think it is more smart than humorous.

Haven't heard AM/FM, but Class Clown will always be the hold standard of comedy albums. So it gets the nod from me.

Same.I'm sure AM/FM is good but i can't see it being better than Class Clown, but it's all preference.I don't think the man put out a bad album ever, some are stronger than others but no bad ones.

As someone who owns both albums I think each have their strong points and are as equally good as each other.
If you put a gun to my head though......I'd probably have to side with Class Clown.

If only those two were offered, I'll side with "FM/AM". Maybe I'm biased because I actually own that album.
The "Gold Collection" of 3 CDs include both of these, plus the always-forgotten "Occupation Foole", another one I own (but can't listen to because my then-baby daughter cracked it. But it looks good in my collection.)

I've always had that collection of 3 as well, so I'm not really that sure where one ends and the other begins. All 3 are absolute classics though. The knuckle cracking bit is one of my favorites, along with Let's Make a Deal.
