I was planning on getting a Wii a few days ago, and I find out that none of the 4 Gamestops near me has it in stock nor does the Best Buy near me have any in stock either. I was completely shocked about this because it's over 3 years since the system came out and I still can't even get a Wii when I wanted to get one. I really want to get it at Gamestop the most because I have about $50 in Edge Card money so I wanted to use that towards the Wii. I mean is this normal to happen yet with the Wii, or is this just completely bad luck. I'm hopeful that on Sunday they'll get a new shipment in.

I would try asking the guys at the store when they are getting a new shipment. The guys at my local store are real chill and will let you know if you ask.

That's kinda weird, even with the holidays. I went to Best Buy on New Years Day and there was literally a pile of Wii systems on the sales floor.

I've seen that happen with certain games over the holidays but it's usually only with new releases.

There are Wii's to be had in these parts, but apparently no stores in the entire state can keep Rock Band kits for the Wii in stock. If they did, I might already own the Beatles game.

Yeah, I'd say stores in your area ran out from the Christmas rush. If you don't mind doing it online, you can order one from gamestop.com and I'd imagine be able to use your gift card. There's almost always free shipping codes, although they're usually three-day delivery or something. www.retailmenot.com/view/gamestop.com

There's a huge Christmas rush, but Nintendo ramps up production to handle said Christmas rush. After the holidays, they slow production down to "normal" levels, and people are looking for them in stronger numbers than they were last year at this time. Hence, the reason everyone's cleaned out.
This goes for my area, so your mileage may vary.

Have you checked to see what Amazon would charge you for one with shipping and handling?

Have you checked to see what Amazon would charge you for one with shipping and handling? Should be free for super-saver shipping (almost everything amazon sells that's over $25 is) Depending where you live and where it ships from, it can be pretty good. Most new games I order ship straight from Philly to here which is a day or two. Even stuff from Kentucky seems to get here quick.

I'm in the middle of a similar problem. In the weeks before Christmas I decided I wanted the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection game. Saw it at all the stores I usually check for video games (Best Buy, gamestop, FYE even walmart) for $20 now that it is a platinum hits game for the 360. But decided to wait and ask for it for christmas. Christmas game and went and no sonic game. So i said alright I'll just pick it up at the store this week when I'm making returns. I have not seen the game anywhere since. It is has if it has fallen off the face of the earth.
I'm going to give the stores another week and then just order it online.

I have the same problem with the PS3. 4 days I had cash on me and everywhere was out. I could have gotten a 250 gig system, but not had enough money left over for a game. 2 Wal Marts, 2 Game Stops, K Mart, Sears, and Toys R Us. None of which had the $299 PS3.
I eventually just put the money back in tha bank.

You should try and see if you can get one yet, because it's the best system out of the 3 in my opinion. I've wanted a Wii for awhile, but wasn't ready to buy one yet, but everytime I was in Best Buy there was always like 50 of them on the sales floor. Now all of a sudden when I have the money to want to spend on it, there's none at all in my area. Just very back luck for me.

I just picked it up again and I'm fairly far into it. I'm going to enjoy playing it again taking the evil route. Anyway, I love Amazon. I'll preorder a game and sometimes for the same price as regular shipping, you get a release date guarantee.

I was at game stop, I asked about how much controllers were. He said he a few in stock, but to get one now, because theres a nationwide Wii remote shortage. Which could be true seeing how people get wiis for christmas then have to run out and buy a 2nd wii remote.
