I know this sounds greedy & all, but my brother just doesn't know how to Christmas shop.
My daughter is 7. My brother goes out to Christmas shop & buys her something for a 2 year old. It's like he has no clue what the hell his neice is into, what she does, or even how old she is.
It just ticks me off. Hell, for her birthday, he doesn't even bother to send her a card or show up to the birthday festivities when invited. My daughter's birthday is days before my mom's & sometimes we do a family thing for both of them...and if he does show up, he gets a card & whatnot for my mom, but nothing for my daughter.
He always complains to my mom that he never sees my daughter or that I don't do anything. But yet when I request to add him on myspace or Facebook, he ignores me. If I text message him, he doesn't respond. Years ago, I sent him an e-mail inviting him over for dinner, I get no response. I even have told him to his face that he's welcome any time in my house to see his neice...NOTHING!
It's just so damn frustrating. And it's not like I am not trying, cause I am.
Granted, growing up as kids, we weren't the best of friends. Hell, I didn't have any close male friends & asked him to be my best man at my wedding. His speech was barely about me & my wife. It was just him trying to be funny. Only thing he did right for my wedding was the Bachelor Party.
I know these things shouldn't bother me...but when I saw my daughter open her Christmas present from him today, it just irritated me. He buys her a toy for a 2 year old & a box of candy. My kid barely even eats candy, for starters...and like I said...SHE'S SEVEN!!
