I remember a few years before Austin had his last match at WrestleMania 19, I thought about how weird the WWF would be without Austin. Flash-Forward, it seemed like the company adjusted well enough without him, but there still seems to be a void.. Or at least for me.
Anyway, A few nights ago I was thinking about how it can't be too much longer that Taker is an active competitor. Putting it into perspective, I highly highly doubt he'll be wrestling at WrestleMania 30. Rumors say he'll be done by next years WrestleMania.
The point of the thread is...am I the only who thinks its gonna be seriously weird with Taker no longer in the WWE? Granted I'm sure if he wanted he could be a trainer or an Agent or have some of position backstage, but if they keep his current gimmick till he retires (Which I'm sure he will), I doubt they'll be able to give him an On-Screen role as a supporting character.
I've only been watching since the Attitude Era, but even since then Undertaker has played such a big part in WWE. And knowing his history only adds to that. I think it'll be a big game-changer..and the entire landscape will sort of be different. Good different? I dunno. Kennedy said Taker is one of the few vets that wants to help develop guys as opposed to bulldozing over them..and I think he's helped quite a bit young guys. Especially in the last decade.
How will you feel when the Deadman is no longer wrestling in the WWE?

It will be a sad for me, because he's been one of my favorites since the beginning. I will miss him tremendously.

I could care less.. Taker's character hasnt been interesting to me in years. However, he can still go in the ring when he wants to. I just have found the whole Undertaker persona stale since he was doing the ministry stuff or American Bad Ass days.

I'll miss him a lot, even if most of his stuff is predictable.
The benefit though is that because Taker has missed so much time in the past, the shows know how to go on without him there.

Undertaker is never going to retire.
I mean, he'll retire, but someone will goad him into coming back sometime well after he's retired for one more Wrestlemania match.

Taker will never retire. WWE will keep him around just for his ring entrance alone.

It's really gonna suck not having Undertaker around once he retires, he's been with the company for about 19 years now, and thats quite a while. Anyone who has been in the business that long and considers retiring is going to suck. But over the years, I've grown accustomed to Taker taking long periods of time off, and I found myself not really too interested in the 1,000 returns he's made to the company. On top of that, I've really lost interest for the Deadman gimmick in 2004 or 2005, it hasn't really appealed to me since his feud with JBL a few years back. There's no doubt about it that it's going to be a sad day not only in the WWE, but in the wrestling business, but at the same time, it's not like I'm only watching WWE for the Undertaker and the company is going to collapse when he leaves.
