DX is face. Vince is a tweener.....sometimes doing heelish things sometimes face things. Hart Dynasty is a heel team.
Anyone going up against Vince is given a face reaction but the other factors don't add up.
Could it be a swerve and have Vince and Bret join forces a la Eric Bischoff and Vince hugging back in the day?
Would WWE take away pro-Bret signs if he is meant to be a heel?

I think Bret will certainly be brought in as a face because I don't see a way where he would work as a heel after what he's been through in the last 12+ years. It wouldn't make any sense for Hart to align with McMahon after what happened in Montreal. I think the right thing to do would to have Bret get some measure of revenge on McMahon. I wouldn't be surprised if the Hart Dynasty gets turned face and gets a huge rub in the process as a result of any Hart vs. McMahon storyline.

He certainly won't be brought into Raw as a heel, but who knows they could turn him heel by being obsessed with getting back at DX. Although since this will be his first WWE stint in 12 years and probably the only one, I am pretty sure he will be the face in whatever fued he is involved in.

face
He may try to teach The Hart Dynasty a lesson. They were talking about how they were going to do what there fathers couldn't do. And the Better than the Best slogan seems to be going that way.

Yeah Hart Dynasty actually sort of insult their fathers every time they cut a promo, so if anything Vince will get them to align with him.

If they try to build on Montreal (which may not happen, depending on Bret's willingness to work with HBK and HHH), they might try him as a heel, but I'm sure he'd get face reactions, and will have to turn if he stays through Mania.

I think Bret will come in as a face, but, after thinking about it, it can go either way. He could come in with a continuation of his anti-USA gimmick, saying how it wasn't just Vince McMahon, but America, who screwed him. Logically, though, he should come in as a face. Some already said that this will be tough, seeing as his teo biggest potential feuds are with Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon, who are both faces. Michaels won't turn heel, but, like we have seen in the past, McMahon can turn heel at any moment. Personally, I see thins happening. One thing tha has me thinking, is if we know how many appearances Hart will make. Is his guest host spot the set-up to an angle, or will it be for one show?

In my opinion he should be the face and not the guy bitching about being screwed. He should say he's over it and Vince should be the heel saying it will never be over.
You can read my FULL idea in my thread, but I won't post a link because I don't want to hijack a thread.

Not a lot, but video packages are there for that reason, if they want to go that way about the Montreal incident. If not, the video packages can put over Bret as someone who was the greatest champion in the 90s (show highlights of matches with Austin etc) with his career cut short by injury. The way WWE does those things I can trust them with that.

but what fraction of a percentage of current fans do you think actually know about what hes been through in the past 12+years? The average median age of a viewer for RAW according to Nielsen is 38. So probably a lot.

Why not both Bret has done both before. Besides a sought of Dark Knight Harvey Two Face charachter out for revenge would be perfect for Bret, Using the Hart Dynasty to do it which puts them over at the same time.
