CoCo and the Chin would be a bigger hit than Wheels and Legman.

Jimmy Fallon's getting in on the jokes too. During his thank-you note bit, he "wrote" "Thank you, NBC, for moving Jay back to late night. It'll be interesting to see how the guys compete against Dave, and how well we compete against the Perfect Pushup infomercial"

CoCo and the Chin would be a bigger hit than Wheels and Legman. This and... "Put both of us in a pit with sharpened sticks and whoever crawls out alive gets to leave NBC" Were the best.

haven't seen the episode myself(still an hour or so in my time zone), but based on what I read about Conan's opener tonight....yeah, I don't see him and NBC making up.
These next few weeks(I assume they're going to let Conan go until the Olympics, since that's when his show would be moving if he accepted the deal) are going to be really interesting TV. Will Conan take more of the highroad, or will he 'shoot'?

Is it actually possible for NBC to screw this up anymore then they already have? If I was Conan I'd be off to FOX in heartbeat

I wouldn't mind if Conan moved to Fox. The problem with Fox is that they haven't had anything worth watching that late at night in a long time.
I love Conando and the annoying Twitter Tracker and if I wasn't working when Conan came on, I'd be watching him more.

Well, I don't blame them for not doing the late night stuff. Originally, they had a syndication-heavy broadcast schedule to get through some FCC loophole, but now that loophole is moot, but it still is hard to try and start a late night tradition out of the blue, especially against the likes of the Lenos, Conanas, and Lettermans of the world. But getting Conan is something different, in that he's an established late night name, so the difficulty curve is significantly lessened. Also, its funny to think that Leno's two biggest competitors(assuming Conan quits, goes to a new network and has another late night show) will be Leno's competition because of Leno's alleged actions.

Can Jay keep ANY friend who's also a talk show host? From what I saw, Johnny Carson didn't care for him all that much, he and Letterman used to be friends til NBC chose Jay over him to take over for Johnny and now it looks like Conan's not feeling too friendly with him now. But I could be wrong.

But I could be wrong. Naw, I saw a little venom tonight when Conan talked about the whole situation. Don't know if he's mad at Jay per say, but he seems pretty upset about it. I just hope he remains mature about this whole situation. He can go and trash Jay, and while that would make for an entertaining TV moment, it would do him way more harm than good. Him taking the moral highroad will make Conan look great, and Leno an ass.

The rumor mill says that ABC isn't interested in Conan, since it would disrupt their successful Nightline/Kimmel programming block. So yeah, it's most likely going to be Fox (should Conan decide to leave, which is looking more and more likely).
Hopefully one positive coming out of this will be Jeff Zucker finally being forced out. The man has done some good (cultivating The Office and 30 Rock when other regimes would have canceled them), but two shows a network does not make. The man is the definition of "failing upwards."

Dammit, can't we just find a way to raise Brandon Tartikoff from the dead?!?! I swear he was the last person who knew how to develop a network rather then just run it season to season. It's like being the GM of a sports team, sometimes you have to bite the bullet and miss the playoffs while you develop your SuperBowl team

Yeah, but even Tartikoff had his share of detractors (if I remember correctly, Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David never spoke too kindly of him, since Tartikoff didn't believe in Seinfeld). At this point, I'm pretty sure all TV executives are idiots who stumble their way into any success they may find.

This whole thing is so unfair its sickening. Conan's getting screwed, not even having a fair shot at the Tonight Show, and Leno is unfairly getting that spot back. I sincerely hope that Conan moves to Fox so that he destroys Leno in the ratings.

I sincerely hope that Conan moves to Fox so that he destroys Leno in the ratings. While I'm certainly in favour of Conan moving to network that will actually show him some respect, I hardly think he has any chance of "destroying" Leno in the ratings. He's already losing to Letterman as it is. If it becomes a three way race, then Conan's coming in third place.

What I'd really like is to see Leno lose his job permanently. All he's done has been to screw over other people (writers and actors of scripted TV and other comedians alike). I have no idea why people think he has a "nice guy" image--this controversy has done him no favors.
