Not that it's anything new, but yeah...
The game itself is none too sweet, but the potential is there. The other night, I, for the first time, "fought" about twelve people and was gassing. It felt good. A shame the barrier between videogame and reality is still so tangible.
Not that I need a 100% accurate boxing simulation, but I think I see where it may actually be remotely possible. I once LOLed at the Wii. I thought it a stupid gimmicky idea, but now I want so desperately for it to evolve it's control registration technology. As I understand it, it's a wish shared by many legit fans of the system.
Make the nun-chucks understand punch types and levels a little better and I'm there. I'm also thinking maybe you could incorporate a dance pad of sorts that would allow you float like a butterfly whilst you sting like a bee.
Anyone remember NFL 2K5 by Sega? Remember how you could record your own gameplay A.I.? There's my icing. Nothing would bring me greater joy from a videogame standpoint than forcing a friend to try and whip the ass of a virtual man made to look exactly like me who fights with my posture and tendencies. Am I alone?
I know this post is disheveled and that the thoughts put forth in it aren't what one might consider coherent, but what are you gonna do? I'm Stick and this is how I do things.
What have you got?

Well, Wii Motion Plus and Balance Board integration would be a good place for a developer to start at, even though that leaves the Nunchuck and the boxer's left arm high and dry.

Or just have it so that the game can be played with two Wii Montion Plus-enhanced remotes, with one in each hand.
Which would also mean that two players would need 4 remotes and four Wii Motion Pluses to play. And maybe two Balance Boards. And two Vitality Sensors.
Maybe it would just be better to buy some Sock'Em Boppers.

I haven't played it yet, but I'd assume that the new Punch-Out perfected the formula that Wii Boxing uses, or came up with a better style of control.

The issue I have is something that doesn't really have a possible answer for. That's the idea that the Game can follow all your movements just fine, but you get offsynch due to the fact that it's impossible to have the controllers register a physical reaction to you body. What do I mean? When you punch or play a fencing game, obviously the game can't physically stop you from following through even though your motion was "blocked" ingame. Makes certain things feel very odd. I still love it though It's just one of those things that has no solution that you just have to get over.
