Yahoo's Jason Cole reports that the Saints do not plan on bringing back Reggie Bush in 2010. Before Monday, I'd say this might give teams hope. However, they don't even need him to be successful right now.

When asked what he was thankful for on the eve of Thanksgiving, Terrell Owens said "I'm thankful for Ryan Fitzpatrick."
DeSean Jackson (concussion) told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio that it's "extremely unlikely" he'll play against the Falcons Sunday.

When asked about former offensive coordinator Charlie Weis, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said it's not on the "front burner at all."

God bless the ESPN analysts for thinking the Cowboys will be a threat to New Orleans. I hope so, but... They've been saying that since Reggie Bush mouthed off about going undefeated when they were...what, 3-0? 4-0? Something like that...anyway, I just do not see it at all. When put up against a competent defense the Cowboys are not that good, and NO defense can hang with the Saints offense when they fire on even half their cylinders, let alone Dallas'. I mean, look at the power rankings on their website? #7?! The Cards (8), the Eagles (9), the Broncos (10) the Steelers when healthy (12), Ravens (13), and Titans (16) could all compete against Dallas, with the Cardinals, Eagles, and Steelers beating them rather soundly IMO. Now back to the Saints. The only fear I have is the possible "trap game" against Washington. Their D is not too bad, and if the offense can get something going, who knows? It's hardly out of the question.

The Bears signed FA LB Cato June yesterday. Anyone know why he was a free agent? Injuries, decline in talent, overall suck, attitude, or other?

Decline in talent more likely....the real one I don't understand is Derrick Brooks being without a team... See Trotter, Jeremiah in Philly and you'll know why Brooks is unemployed. The only reason Trotter was brought back was because of sentimental reasons. The only reason he's stayed is because 8 other guys got hurt since then (OK, I exaggerate, but we've had a lot of LBs go down). Linebackers are like running backs. Once their legs go, they can go downhill very fast. Brooks just can't keep up in pass coverage anymore and would be a liability as much as he could help.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, there is mounting speculation that the Browns will shut down Jamal Lewis for the season.
Despite being medically cleared to return from his concussion, Clinton Portis indicated in a radio interview that he may be done for the year.

Bears placed OLB Pisa Tinoisamoa (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
An Eagles "senior official" confirmed to ESPN's Sal Paolantonio Tuesday night that DeSean Jackson did lose consciousness in Week 12.

The Pats-Saints game on MNF drew around 21.4 million viewers, coming up around 400,000 short of the Vikings-Packers game which set a cable ratings record earlier this season.
The NFL's cable ratings record before this season was about 18 million for the Eagles-Cowboys game last year.

Almost forgot... The NFL Network had an interesting stat up the other day.
56% of passes this year have been from shotgun. In 2006, it was 32%.
So it's gone from slightly under a third of the time to over half the time.

(people can party all night, drink too much and Black Out without passing out)Unconscious means you are not in control of your body and are ... well, not conscious. Only somebody else can tell you if you were unconscious VS blacked out.

Only somebody else can tell you if you were unconscious VS blacked out. My point was merely that it's not that big of a story that it had to have "senior officials" confirming reports. Jackson himself admitted he got rattled pretty bad and admitted it was slightly worse that it looked. Practically there is no difference between the two here except in terms of his treatment. He was not playing this week regardless of him "blacking out" or being unconscious or whatever else. And I don't think fans really care if he either blacked out or was unconscious or both.

I gotta say, VY has shocked me but in a good way. He was winning games before but did it with the one of the best defense in the league, JaMarcus-esq inaccurate throws, and looking completely out of his element in the pocket.
I think he rewrote John Elway's ''The Drive Sunday. 99 yard 2 minute offense? You can't be better than that. If we can get past the manbeast AKA Peyton Manning, I can see us winning out and legitimately making a playoff run. What's stopping Chris Johnson from getting 2000 yards? Nothin' so far. The secondary is coming around, damn it's easing being optimistic when you're on this kind of roll. ;D

A crazy thought just hit me about how screwy the end of the season could go and in terms of a Saints unbeaten season.
Assuming Minnesota wins out, the Saints would have to play Carolina at full force. Why? Because if they lose, they will actually finish with the 2 seed because Minnesota's only loss would have come to Pittsburgh, so the Saints finish with a worse conference record than the Vikings. So they could potentially run the table from Weeks 1-16, only to lose in Week 17 and not have homefield.
The system is fair, just the situation is totally insane. And not totally unlikely either.

I was telling everyone to watch out for this guy when he was here at ECU.
