TNA is currently a trending topic on Twitter so it's definitely succeeding at generating interest in the company. If this doesn't boost their ratings, nothing will.
I've never liked Hogan so I can't say I'm thrilled about it myself.

I just hope that TNA management takes some words of wisdom to heart if they don't want to share WCW's fate -

he wont debut thursday, but there will be videos for sure If TNA were sensible, they would promote the hell out of Hogan's debut on this week's Impact. that video of TNA and Hogan should be shown at least

Yes. I know Hogan isn't anxious to put anyone else over but we'll see.

Seems like this would have been better to announce before their biggest PPV of the year.

So much for TNA turning the corner and pushing new stars.

I can't believe how many people hate this idea already. Hogan joining TNA can only help them in the long run. To me this makes TNA big league when a legend, like Hogan and a very smart and under appreciated (by the IWC) business man like Eric Bischoff, join their company. The entire wrestling business is in a huge slump right now, maybe this is the shot in the arm it needs. I haven't watched a full wrestling show in a year. I mean look how many people are talking about TNA right now. Tonight they will even be mentioned on Larry King when Hogan appears!

If Vince is as canny a businessman as he once was, he will break out the cash for the possible young talent about to be shunted aside. In six months we could see a new Radicals style exodus from TNA.
I see no reason to believe Hogan and Bisch have changed their tune. A Hogan/Angle/Bisch axis in TNA is certainly not the bedfellows of young prospering talent.

Hm, how will Russo as booker affect Hogan's run in TNA, I wonder?

Obviously the storylines of every 'young' talent in the company will immediately stop, and their segments will be filled with Hogan burying them in interviews

Who is this supposed to appeal to? Me! I have never gotten to see Hulk Hogan live, ever. And I was one of those Hulkamaniacs in the late 80's/early 90's. But if he's in TNA, two hours away from me, I will go to my first live TNA show for that opportunity. Like someone posted earlier, +1 TNA from this.

he wont debut thursday, but there will be videos for sure If TNA were sensible, they would promote the hell out of Hogan's debut on this week's Impact. Oh definitely. Forget those guys in the locker room They aren't important. The real important thing to promote is that the orange monster will hobble to the ring next week! I'd make the whole episode an infomercial...of course i don't know what footage they can run other than Double-J hitting him with a guitar. It can be David Flair's titantron. Oh and they now have to sign Linda Hogan as a Vickie Guerrero type figure. Why not just sign every dysfunctional, aging, hipster and have a nostalgia act? TNA is turning into a VH1 Reality Show of 80's rejects. What a shame.

I think this could be a great thing for TNA, provided they use Hogan well. In my opinion the best thing to do is what WWE did -- put Hogan in "special attraction" matches and feuds and keep him away from the world title picture. If TNA does this, I think this could be huge for them.

NO

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dammit, TNA has been SO GOOD the past two months.
I don't want AJ, Hernandez, Wolf, Young, and other incredibly hot prospects getting buried for another Hogan nostalgia run. And you KNOW he's getting the title the first opportunity they get to put it on him.
I just hope he helps boost TNA's profile and then gets the hell out of dodge, personally. I don't want him ruining TNA's streak of awesome matches/angles/talent elevation the way he did WCW's same period when he signed with them. Nobody wants Brian Knobbs, Brutus Beefcake, or Wayne from The f***ing Wonder Years in the goddamn Impact Zone. At least, I hope no one does.

Using Hogan well? He is in worse shape culturally and physically than he was since the last time the WWE used him successfully...which was 2005.
And remember, the last two times Hogan worked for the WWE, he backtracked and changed the deal on Shawn Michaels so that he could go over and then the next year he went over Randy Orton after barely making the match due to hurting himself while getting off the couch.
Nothing in Hogan's past indicates he will be a special attraction unless he gets to go over. And now in TNA he will have a lot more pull than he did with Vince in the WWE. We saw what happened in WCW when he dictated all circumstances. People forget in 2002 that Hogan was disappointed that he only got a short nostalgia run with the title. He wanted an extended Rocky type run where he kept going over.
If the past is any indicator of the future, Hogan will go over any and all comers in awfully embarrassing matches and hokey square promos.
