I figured out what bugged me about Sting/AJ from BFG. AJ no sold 2 scorpion death drops and powered out of the Scorpion Death lock like he was Brock Lesnar or something. It made no sense at all really. That's what bugged me.
Sting hits a Death Drop, AJ styles gets up first.

Actually, it's not a bad booking move.
You want to get your top guy over, you make him look powerful. Say what you will, but in WWE it worked with Hulk Hogan and, more recently, with John Cena. Hogan's still the most recognized name in wrestling, and Cena's seen as a main eventer who can go toe-to-toe withany top name in the business.
If TNA's really going to Super-AJ route, while it's not the most original strategy, it's good route to take.

but he's smalller and crafty, this is the first time they've booked him like that though. he's an awesome underdog, it just came out of nowhere. Usually he actually sells the finishers of his opponent this time not so much

He has been miraculously empowered by... Hmm... The power of friendship?
Nah. Still, if they don't go overboard with it a little ubermode can help him, as hollywood said. Especially if they do it semi-intelligently. I can agree it was a bit too much - I was a bit surprised at how easily AJ came out of what was supposed to be top-level offense by Sting - but it wasn't a wallbanger.
Unlike, say, the ending in Joe vs Lashley. I mean, WTF?

As has been said, it's a smart move.
But it CAN be overdone. Time will tell in this case. But, to be honest, TNA finally putting everything they've got behind someone other than Angle, even if it IS overdone, would be kinda refreshing.

The death drop is just a shitty finisher these days. Maybe AJ forgot that even was a finisher lol. The match was odd in that there was really like ZERO times AJ came close to getting pinned. I mean everyone knew who was going over, but they really never tried to convince otherwise wither. I was more quarreled by no-selling the deathlock though. Submissions, especially an established one like Sting's should be easy to sell. Sit there and squirm and scream. Not that difficult IMO.

Just buggEd me that he could no sell and sting looking like a jobber. You never felt that omg sting could win which took a lot away. Also just bugged me that he relentlessly sold for angle just on impact

It's a Reverse DDT applied by a 50-year-old. Not shocking that somebody young and very fit could bounce back, especially if he's the World Champion at the biggest show of the year.

It's a finisher it should be sold Tell that to the Ultimate Warrior. It entirely depends on the situation.

I think a lot depended on the fact that there wasn't much time in the match.
Can't really blame AJ for the no selling, either, I'm sure the agents told him to do it like that.

I just think thesecomplaints are a bit funny considering how many people complain that AJ is made to look like a weak champion.

So I guess everybody should pop straight back up after a Tombstone or a Sweet Chin Music now too... I get that they wanted him to look strong, it just looked a bit silly that he bounced right back from not 1, but 2 Scorpian Deathdrops. Not even Cena would do that. They did seem a bit short on time though so maybe they were just trying to rush towards the finish.

I just think thesecomplaints are a bit funny considering how many people complain that AJ is made to look like a weak champion. Indeed, and there's a fair bit more evidence for that contention. I suppose it makes his feats against Sting stand out even more, since he's been made to look pretty bad in everything else.
