Imagine if someone didn't know that Jimi Hendrix was black until he or she was a teenager. That's me.

I never knew that Carl Wilson was the lead singer of Good Vibrations, I thought it was Brian...
Although to my credit, Brian IS heard in the verses after all (the high parts "I hear the sound of a" and "when I look" in the first and second verses are him.)

Lil' Jon > Lil' Wayne
Especially Dave Chappelle's parody of the former.

Wheatus hasn't been relevant in over a decade.
But their vocalist was a male.

I used to think Living Colour were British, based on how they spelled "colour".
I also thought they were white, because when was the last time you saw an all black rock band? Colour me surprised.

I thought the Killers were from the UK for the longest time, based on the guy's voice and the way he sings. Was kind of blown away when I found out they were from Vegas or somewhere out there.

I looked up stuff on The Commodores a little while ago and am remembering again, that Lionel Richie was a singer for them.

When I was little, I had trouble telling apart Led Zeppelin and Def Leppard just because their names sounded similar to me. It took me a few years to realize that Led Zeppelin didn't have a one-armed drummer.

It took me a few years to realize that Led Zeppelin didn't have a one-armed drummer. How about the fact that Def Leppard's lead guitarist is named Phil Collen? That really confused me when I was younger.

Before i was a fan of the band, i tought that too, that was one of the main reasons of why they recorded "Sam´s Town" to sound more American and let people know they were from America
