Ok...so I hit "random" on my ipod the other day, and his song "That Summer" cam on, and it reminded me of how much I liked Garth to begin with. I'd have to say that, although it's not my favorite song of his (that would be "The Dance") "That Summer" is one of the better country songs I've ever heard.
Any other fans of Garth on these boards? If so, what's your favorite song of his?

Garth and that whole Country Pop bunch of irrelevance are much like the "70's Rock" in the Eagles and Foreigner before the Ramones and the other Punks.
A genre in desperate need of an enema.

The Dance is one of my drinking songs. Growing up, Rodeo was one of my favorite songs. And who can forget that vocal swelling in Til' The Sun Comes Up? It was like the Dok Hendrix thing, but in super slow motion and a whole lot cooler.
Ohhhhhhhhhh....wwwwwww....wwwwwwEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

Huge Garth Brooks fan, grew up on his music and I own the Ultimate collection. My favorite song might be The Change or When You Come Back To Me from Frequency. I'm very happy that he's coming out of retirement and I can't wait for his next recording to get released.

I'm not what you'd call a Garth Brooks fan, but I do like some songs of his, like "I Got Friends In Low Places," "Thunder Rolls," and "Standing Outside The Fire."

I own a grand total of four country albums, and two of them are Garth's ("The Hits" and "Double Live"). That says something.
"That Summer" is indeed an awesome song, but I would have to say my ultimate favorites are the two rockin' stadium anthems - "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" and "The Fever." Nonstop fun.

I like Garth really well... my favorite song of his is probably either "The Thunder Rolls", "We Shall Be Free" or "Learning to Live Again".
However, George Strait is the king of country, and even Garth agrees with that.

Someone once told me that Chris Gaines is really Garth Brooks. I said, "yeah right, next thing going to tell me that Batman is really Bruce Wayne."

I used to listen to Garth all the ever loving time when I was younger. As I've gotten older my country tastes seems to dip into the Cash / Kristofferson style but I'll always enjoy the his songs I grew up with.
Much Too Young Live still gives me goosebumps when he yells out "God Bless Chris Ledoux!"

It's funny you should bring up Strait, because my stepdad used to always say that there were a lot of Garth's songs that would be so much better if Strait did them. I have to agree, but then, there are Garth songs that are just HIS, you know? And I hadn't realized that Tanya Tucker was the first to cut "The Thunder Rolls". THAT blew my mind.

I've seen him in concert twice. The man knows how to put on a show.
