I've been working on making a site for me to post horror reviews on. I was going to get my own URL and all that crap, but decided to go the easy route for now: open up a blog site. Just like Seth Drakin does with Monster Crap and Forgotten Sin does with Toon Crap, I will post my reviews there. Most of my reviews from these Horror threads have been posted on it as well. Here is the link: horrordisgustion.blogspot.com/I hope you enjoy the site and the first "new" review for it, Evil Toons! P.S. I will still post in these threads and will either post the link to my new review or just copy and paste it here.

You have your first follower, Y2J (I'm the extremely dorky looking guy with the "might be thumbs up might be thumbs down" gesture on your profile now). And you inspired me to create my own blogspot. On Facebook I have this whole International Horror Registry thing going on where I "induct" horror movies that I enjoy into a hall of fame. Might as well post them on here too. Right now I'm in the midst of doing every movie in the Friday the 13th franchise, and if there's one review you should check out here, it's the one for A New Beginning, which I got tons of props on. ihrregistry.blogspot.com

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton to star in The Thing Prequel You know what would be the bees knees? If at the very end of this, they had Kurt Russell cameo as MacReady drops off the first of the American scientists at their facility. But if they can't get Russell...I'd take Ryan Reynolds as his stand in. ;D

Is Saw VII the Final Chapter? As a big fan of the series, I can only say I hope so.

Well, after Halloween, which was essentially the perfect horror film to begin with, got remade, I guess nothing was safe after that. Now, let's try to think positive. The original might get released in a special edition on Blu-ray, and hey, this remake may not be a total disas... Awww, f*** it. It'll be a trainwreck.

More than anything else said in that article, this line especially makes my blood boil: People have different gauges when it comes to relative enjoyment of a film. Some like things to be different. Some like to be intellectually challenged. Some, like myself, like emotional investment in the characters and story. Unfortunately, A LOT of people nowadays go to movies just to gaze at special effects. For the life of me, it's a mindset that I just cannot comprehend. So a movie has advanced computer graphics. Who cares? Not me, for starters. As somebody who has written a lot of movie reviews, I have never - nor will I ever - award any points to a film for special effects. It's one of the things that really annoyed me about the insane response that Avatar got. A lot of the positive reviews of the film that I read said something like, "well, the movie has a cookie-cutter story, but the visuals are amazing." Yeah, I thought the visuals were amazing too, but you know what? I didn't give a shit about the story, hence I didn't give a shit about this amazingly detailed fictional universe. R-man, if this comes to pass, I really feel sorry for you, because based on that quoted statement alone, they will have taken the one thing that made Jaws special to begin with - that it was about the people and not the creature effects - and perverted it.

Eh, I can't get too worked up over a Jaws remake. The movie has practically been remade dozens of times already over the years, they just changed the title each time.

Difference is, they didn't go by Jaws because they weren't Jaws. Jaws wasn't the first shark movie, and it'll never be the last one. Remaking it means they're taking the same plot and characters and re-doing it.
I've been trying my best to be lenient on these remakes, since they don't seem to be leaving anytime soon. But, this is just pushing my buttons. I'm getting terrified that The Exorcist remake isn't too far off.

I'd post my thoughts, but they're basically the same as yours. I'll just say this: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Am still too emotionally devastated by this news to react/respond. Nite Owl, do the honors: And yeah, if JAWS gets redone, then hell, I can't see EXORCIST (in glorious 3D!) being far off. Hell, maybe they'll do GONE WITH THE WIND while they're at it. With Tracy f'n Morgan as Rhett Butler. I mean, why not? If they're willing to spit in the face of a time honored classic like JAWS, why not do it to THAT movie too? Morgan would make just as GREAT of a Rhett as he would a Hooper.

If I remember correctly, Madonna was trying to remake Gone With the Wind (it might have been Casablanca), but every studio turned her down.
