I guarantee you that if he was released, the kids wouldn't miss him that much. He's not funny, nuff said. The kids have their Cena, and DX. Let us atleast watch with some dignity. Imagine you were showing wrestling to some guy who never watched before and midget court popped on. First of all, funny is subjective. He usually gets a chuckle out of me. Second of all, if I was trying to sell WWE to a non-fan things like midget court would be the FIRST thing I'd show them. Okay, I lied. I laughed at him this past monday when Triple H had him on the skateboard but that's it, for me. I liked him back in 2006 as "Little Bastard" but now he's taking up valuable time on Raw, that guys like MVP, Swagger, Carlito and Masters could be using. I wouldn't care about him, but he's like the focal point of the Raw show now and it's very annoying for us adults (or most of them, anyways) to watch a midget embarrassingly beat a well-grown wrestler in Tom & Jerry style. If he wasn't taking up so much time, I wouldn't care.

You're right, you do sound like a smark. Just remember, 6 years ago I was bashing other smarks for criticizing the product. Now that I've become one, I can see why.

Remember Eugene's stint on ECW One Night Stand? Would Hornswoggle see the same reception?
Hornswoggle could have been used well after the McMahon son angle, if he admitted he was only acting as a leprechaun to keep his job, but now that he's a McMahon, he can act like the adult he is. He then becomes the general manager of RAW, and in a rare move, the WWE handles a small person with dignity. There's no gimmick; he's a great, fair, general manager who just happens to be a small person. Put him in a suit and cut his hair, change his name - later drop the McMahon relation if need be - and earn a little respect for wrestling for once.

Because he's a good worker, connects with a lot of fans (albeit kids), and actually accomplishes all of this through body language.
Just because you don't like his character or think he's overexposed shouldn't deny the reason that he's been employed so long, especially when you consider the short stints of his predecessors.

Not every character has to sell merchandise. You could bastardize any character into a merchandise seller, yes, and Hornswoggle is one of those. You could spin a gimmick for Teddy Long to sell merchandise - come up with any black stereotype and put it on merchandise - and you could sell some merchandise. That doesn't mean it should be done. If Hornswoggle became a more serious GM, it might take a little heat off of the WWE for insensitivity, it adds a sorely needed touch of political correctness - which they say they want - and a character like that could tie together a brand nicely. The audience might warm to this character, build him as a respectable authority figure, and it's a gain for WWE. Either show could do with a stronger authority figure to give more credibility and structure.

Because (unfortunately) spammed Hornswaggle crap is pretty much integrated into the standard booking template of RAW since the debut of the guest hosts.

In your opinion of course. I know a few people that think he's hilarious. Have you given any consideration to cutting them out of your life? You're right, you do sound like a smark. OH BOY. YOU SURE SHOWED HIM!!!!! MOLTEN LAVA HAS NOTHING ON THE BURN YOU JUST DEALT OUT~! HIGH FIVES ALL AROUND!* *I'm being sarcastic, sir. But hey, be nice. Smarks deserve love, too. And not just because their obesity and general lack of hygeine usually prevents them from being courted by an actual woman who does not first require a patch-kit and dad's bicycle pump to activate. Although, that's mostly the reason.

He's popular, the kids love 'em. Granted I don't know if he needs to be saddled with one of the biggest draws in the company, but the simple fact is he'll still end up like Eugene at some point, as in when he wears out his welcome it'll be FAST. Mainly because they'll do the same thing they did with Eugene, as in they won't change his character and he'll get stale.

Thanks in advance.

Right now, there seems to always be a storyline for him to integrate into. He'll be done with the DX thing after they eventually get involved in a serious feud.

The feud will be enhanced when the bad guys DX is fighting do something evil to Swoggle and he's gone for like a whopping two weeks to a month, only to return to want to be like Undertaker's minion or a Luchador with Rey since they're the same height.

The better question is why would they fire Hornswoggle.

I would imagine they would turn on him at some point. Its amazing they didn't do it already. When they do then we can have this discussion. He's a one trick pony, so when the crowd gets sick of it he's gone. They haven't though, and he only gets more over...which only serves to further infuriate the lunatic fringe of the IWC. Personally, he's my favorite member of the roster. ;D I've seen you use that phrase "lunatic fringe" on your 411 page - just because I don't find Hornswoggle funny, and believe he takes up way too much TV time which could be used to get wrestlers over, doesn't make me a lunatic. I can admit that he's way over, but I'm not an irrational mentalist just because I'm not a fan.

You know, I'm not exactly a fan of Hornswoggle. But yes considering the amount of merch that he does move and the fact that he gets a constant reaction out of people (Remember, there's no such thing as bad publicity).
WWE would probably be crazy to fire him at this point, sure they're driving away thier core fanbase with his "Filler", but I honestly believe that WWE dosen't really care about the people that just watch the shows. They want the people that watch the shows, Buy the T-Shirts, and the PPVs, and other related merch. To them the TV fans are nothing but strawmen, that give them a cursory glance but don't have the "love" of the product that drives booking decisions and supports the company.
Yes, people hate Hornswoggle, but WWE doesn't care about fan opinion, just the fan's money, and I can't fault them for that. As much as we may complain about a segment of the product, if it sells it stays.

He'll be gone within a year or so.
Once DX inevitably breaks up/separates and the Guest Host thing goes out the window after Wrestlemaina or around draft time, he has no usefulness anymore. Hornswoggle himself, by himself, doesn't really sell merchandise. Unless you put him on ECW with Goldust, Yoshi, and face Kozlov, you really don't have a lot of options.

He's Eugene without the issues. "No one" will boo him because he is "special". But they will cheer HHH if he beats the crap out of ether of them. Not true, when Triple H Pedigreed him the crowd boo'd...at MSG. If that doesn't say they love him i don't know what does.
