Why were they sucking up? I really didn't get that either. Vince McMahon brings them in as a lethal dose of poison and then when they turn up they try to appeal to the crowd that they're not really bad guys and then try to suck up to The Rock and Steve Austin. Was kind of doomed right there. You misunderstood. So did the other guy. They weren't sucking up. They were mocking the biggest stars. And the fans. It was some great heeling.

So Austin ended up wrestling Hall at WM that year in Toronto and I remember reading that he was unhappy about that. Was it just that he didn't like is position on the card or he had a problem with Hall? Does anybody remember?

He felt he was bigger than that, resented the nWo coming in at all, and was miffed that the office wanted him to lose -- with Nash interfering -- because, he said, it wasn't worth it to put a guy over who'd be gone (from his alcoholism) in a few weeks/months. Ouch.

Ouch. i don't blame him but was there another option? He didnt want to wrestle Hogan and Y2J-Trips was set months before.

Seth Mates, former creative member, has written that they considered heel Austin versus face Triple H. I'm not sure about any other options, though.
