When the youngest McMahon grandchild turns 14. Then it's back to TV-14.

I disagree. Those shows are superior to today's because, simply put, there was less wasted space. Yes you had dumb skits like Val Venis' castration, but at the same time, that served the purpose of getting Kaientai over, whereas today, they'd just be sucking dust backstage for weeks at a time. Everyone on the roster had some role in the show and its ongoing stories. Some better than others, but they found a way to get everyone in. Even if they were jobbers, they were built up to look like a challenge, so there seemed like there were fewer throwaway matches. Also, I've said this in another thread, but an anti-hero like Austin or Rock is more believable than a pure white hat like Cena, or even Hogan. You rooted for them, but couldn't justify a lot of the things they did. That made them more human than guys who are just walking personality traits. I'm gonna have to disagree with you, and more or less agree with Schlapowitz. I don't think Cena or Hogan were ever pure babyfaces either, especially Hogan. Remember how Jesse Ventura used to point out all the times Hogan cheated and Vince or Monsoon would have to make excuses for him? Hogan was not Bob Backlund, he was a relatively edgier character for his time and that helped him become more popular, just as Bret Hart was a little edgier than Hogan, and then Austin a little edgier than Bret. Then it kind of peaked with Austin and Rock because they went about as far as you can go and still be a babyface. With Cena, you kind of have a throwback to someone more like Hulk or Bret, which I think is a smart compromise for older fans and new younger fans. It also leaves room for someone to possibly come along at some point and make waves by being more of an anti-hero than Cena is. I think WWE is better this way, it forces them to focus more on storytelling and building stars. WWE in my opinion is always at it's worst when it tries to hard to be shocking. That's why, to me, while Attitude Era included some of the company's finest moments, it also had some of the worst television they've ever done. A lot of people say that WWE doesn't listen to it fans, but I think they really do. For example, they've been building up new stars lately and new tag teams, which is exactly what a lot of fans have been wanting in the last couple years. Those types of changes can't be made overnight, but they're clearly taking steps to try to fit the current product with the current generation of fans. It's always a work in progress, but I think they've been doing a better job lately.

They are corporate so it won't go back. But i'm 25, and if they go back to the "attitude" it won't be for another 5-10 years. When i'm 30-35 i'm not going to want to see "edgy" storylines or shock. Personally right now all i want is good wrestling. That's all I want, too. Entertaining wrestling matches, only I want them to stop with the same formula for every match (credit Al Snow): 1- Face out-wrestles the heel. 2- Heel cuts off the Face's offense. 3- heel beats up the face. 4- hope spot. 5- both guys get knocked down at the same time. 6- Face comes back 7- False finishes and finish. Honestly, it's every match, whether it's a singles, tag or divas match.

I agree that the matches are too formulaic sometimes, and I would also say that there are sometimes questionable pairings for matches. I think that's mostly only true for TV matches though. The best matches are on PPV. Sometimes people complain that they have the same matches on TV as on PPV, and a lot of times that's true on paper, but on PPV the matches tend to be longer and have a lot more twists and turns. That's why when there's occassionally a really great TV match people call it "PPV quality".
