What do you expect them to do? Have nothing but short matches? They have to run the commercials. They also have to have some form of actual wrestling matches. Short, squash-fests do nobody any good. And we all know that the match isn't going to end during a commercial in today's WWE. We never miss anything big. All that happens is the face looks strong heading into commercial, the heel then does something to take control and start building to the finish, usually starting with a Randy Orton Special.

That's the problem. It's become so cookie-cutter-like, it's predictable. And you know after a long winded promo before a match, they go to break before the guy gets in the ring, and return when the match is just underway.

I would like it once where when they come back from commercial if the heel did not have the face in some sort of submission, generally a chinlock or armbar.
I want a match to end during commercial break. Could make it more interesting

I mean, they're cutting out the main focus of the entire show, it's like cutting to commercial in the middle of a football play, you're missing out on what you tuned in to watch. The only time there aren't commercials are when there are extremely short matches like Kofi/Miz last night, or during the main event, and even then they cut to commercial during the main event. Is that you Donald Trump?

I forgot what match it was, but before the Attitude Era, there was a Match going on, and one guy was pinned during the commercial break, threw a fit and restarted the match, was pinned again, and then they restarted the match just as they returned from commercial. It was funny as McMahon restated what happened considering all that happened within the span of 3 minutes.

That actually happened once during a Mr. Perfect/Rick Martel match in the early days of RAW. I can remember in like 2005 or so that happened too, during a Val Venis squashing (maybe by Muhammed Hassan?). The match had just started when they went to commercial, and when it came back whoever beat him was celebrating while they showed a replay of the match's ending. hahah, I don't remember that. That's one of the Wreslting Cliche's I always wanted to see come true. Right after, guys kicks out of pin attempt, guy pinning tries again and succeeds.

Actually, they do everyone good. You know people talk about how back in the 80s and 90s that everyone seemed to be over? That was why. Raw used to have a card something like this: Razor Ramon v Jeff Jarrett (I-C Match with a non-finish) Bam Bam Bigelow v Tony Devito The Heavenly Bodies v Two Jobbers 1-2-3 Kid v Duane Gill Owen Hart v Rich Myers or The Undertaker v Kwang (Clean finish) Jim Neidhart v Tim McNeany Shawn Michaels & Diesel v Tony Devito & Paul Van Dale Adam Bomb v Duane Gill The Bushwhackers v Barry Hardy & Bert Centeno And you can guess which one match had the ad break.

On a somewhat related note, a while back Impact started the show with a match already in progress. I thought it was kind of neat to get right to the action.

The only time there aren't commercials are when there are extremely short matches like Kofi/Miz last night, or during the main event, and even then they cut to commercial during the main event. commercials make it look spur of the moment, uncontrolled and a bit more realistic. You can't just say they could put the commercials they need in between matches because now that time limits are so rare any match could turn into an hour long affair and they need a certain amount of commercials per hour.

At least wrestling is scripted and you rarely ever miss anything good. I watch NASCAR and it is annoying how many times something big happens during a race while they are at commercial break. In the 2003 Daytona 500, in a weird sense, the wreck with Newman happened right AFTER commercial break. The 2001 and 2002 races had the big-ones, and the stations cut in during the breaks to show the carnage. They'd never do that anymore.

The commercial breaks are generally the best part of the match.

Look at this one. They ran out of time on the station right as the main event started. One of the Headshrinkers got a title shot? He wasn't a headshrinker.

I've tried to watch Raw live, and I would rather miss 2 minutes of every match than have them try and cram each match into the 30-40 seconds that they're on air between ads.

I miss WWE Unlimited I agree. It helped us watch the matches in their entirety, plus it gave so many people a ton of opportunities for various "extra" segments that were usually pretty entertaining.

Go pick out any Raw or Smackdown from 2000-2001, there were long matches and none of them had the predictable set-up of "floor spot-down selling-ad break-heel in control". The match ran like it would on a PPV. The backstage stuff was in quick 30-1 minute segments around the matches.
In short, there is no excuse, because they used to do it all the time

Tonight's RAW & the 3-hour iMPACT! broke the barrier of commercials during the show. Dear God.
