I mean, does anyone think of "Dayton, Ohio" when they think of Bret Hart? Sure, he got some good cheers and the crowds started up the "We want Bret" and "you screwed Bret" chants, but for someone who hasn't been on Raw in 12 years and barely involved with WWE during that tenure (besides the DVD and HOF), you think the company would have tried to make the show feel a little more special. I think a hot Canadian crowd, either in Calgary, Toronto, or (duh) Montreal could have done that.
Agree? Disagree?

I would have made it more special if it was in montreal pecifically since it was the place it started it all. But anywhere in Canada would have been good since he would have gotten the Hogan pop there.

I disagree. The crowd was extremely hot -- way more excited than they would be for an average show so they did their job well. It would have been great to see him in Canada but if he'll be back for a bit, there's a chance WWE might run there and that ovation would likely happen.

Any show that WWE would do with Bret Hart coming back would get great cheers. But I agree, having it in Canada would have gotten him a Hogan-like pop and would have made the night just that much more special.

I agree but it's obvious he was brought in last night to compete with TNA so it's not like WWE could just cancel RAW in whatever city they were in and move it to Montreal or wherever.

I think the crowd would have been even hotter in Canada.
...not that there's anything wrong with the lovely ladies of Ohio.

Seems to me they didn't have much choice as they had to make this decision at the last minute in response to TNA's Hogan announcement.

You know, if this is an extended program, Bret should get/start to get his revenge in Canada. Have McMahon gloat about it, have him mention it to HBK to make him uncomfortable, bring Orton into it and then have Bret come back, unannounced, on a Raw in Canada, with the Hart Dynasty in tow.
I loved the fact that Bret was a solid face during the show, btw.

No sense in griping about it now. More importantly, is Raw going to be in Canada at any point between now and WM? Anybody got a schedule?

No. No one can knows exactly what the angle with Bret and Vince is, but last night turned out to be a perfect time to start the angle.

Except that the fact that HArt/McMahon wer in talks about doing this well before Hogan made his announcement. In other words, it was done to start 2010 more than a response to TNA.

Montreal, Toronto and Calgary are all obvious choices.
But why not Ottawa, ON Canada? That's where RAW was the night after the Montreal Screwjob, it's where Bret was supposed to drop the title the very next night, but never did.
As for WWE coming to Canada between now and WrestleMania, the WWE.com site shows "No live events are scheduled at this time. Check back soon." ... whereas the United States part shows dates booked all the way upto March 31st.
It would be a shame if Bret was there for three months and never made a TV appearance in Canada.

It is unfortunate that RAW won't be in Canada at any point. But, I suspect the arenas were booked long before Bret agreed to return.

Bret will get his pay back on Vince in Canada. It doesn't really matter where the set up happens.
