Was anyone reminded of when Shawn superkicked Bret in 97? Its like they were both in the same position, minus the wheelchair. Was this done on purpose? Did anyone else notice it? It was like the same camera angle too.

I think they wanted to subtly tease the possibility that Shawn would kick him, yeah.

I definitely noticed it, it was great stuff and I absolutely believe it was done on purpose.
Moments like this are why I'm so glad Bret is back for a bit, everything he's involved in is creative and is designed to create tension which gets the fans more involved. I think this angle is going to special, even in today's over scripted bland WWE.

Yeah I think they wanted to tease it.
How great was it watching a Raw segment where you were on the edge of your seat and didn't know what was going to happen.
I thought they handled Brets return very well.

I loved how real Bret felt the whole time, you could sense his nervousness and it didn't feel like he was cutting wrestling promos to pop the crowd, but going out there and saying what he felt and genuinely reacting to the crowd and HBK and Vince. I know it was all scripted, but Bret just made it seem real just as he always did.

I think a few of you are not getting what I mean. I don't mean just about "teasing the kick". I mean the segment in 1997 when Bret turned heel and Shawn hit him with the kick. The two were stood in the EXACT same place.

That was a unbelievable moment to watch that. Now I just wonder if the you screw Bret and all of that stuff from the fans will end because of it. I was glad to see it for sure.

He might still have to apologize for sticking the flag up his nose. I loved how they did that part though, and I thought it was great how even Bret acted like he was expecting it to happen, like it wouldn't surprise him if Shawn tried to kick his head off.

I don't think they were intentionally referencing the same spots in the ring as an earlier superkick on Raw. I think that from a camera angle perspective, that is just the best spot in the ring for them to tease that Shawn might superkick Bret. And it is obvious, not even worth arguing, that they meant for that to be a 'will he or won't he' moment because Shawn was sort of standing sideways to Bret and they both held their positions for a second to sell the moment.

I was a 12 year old mark again last night. When shawn did that quick turn, my heart jumped a beat and I was like "DON'T DO IT" That was a unbelievable moment to watch that. Now I just wonder if the you screw Bret and all of that stuff from the fans will end because of it. I was glad to see it for sure. I haven't noticed as much heat on HBK in Canada ever since DX re-formed in 2006. Didn't shawn even get a "we forgive you" chant at one point?
