LEAD.
And the floor stuff has been replaced by god-awful music....fiddling...and Irish step dancing?
What the hell, Canada?

Has the Gretzky Meme taken off yet? I know PTI mentioned it on Twitter.

Men's downhill postponed eh? Bummer, now I have to put up longer with the Canucks constantly talking about wanting their first home gold. Speed skating looks fun, I might watch some of that today. But if Anton Ohno wins his third, does that mean his gold medal will be presented to him by Tom Bergeron?

I knew that I shouldn't have seen the opening ceremony at a friend's house. The 'crappers were obviously liveblogging the Opening ceremony! Wow! ;D

16,600 spectators? I thought the place had a 60,000 seat capacity. I'm confused. Thank you Lord. That seems a small amount compared to the Summer ones and the around 400 contingent for the Americans. Yep, that's a blooper, B.C. Place Stadium seats just over 60,000 I'm expecting Jean Beliveau to burst out from one of these guy's thick clothing and do some spins around him. Is that Donald Sutherland narrating? Yes, CTV has been usuing him heavily in all their pre-done Olympic stuff. Once again, I feel the need to reiterate that a sizable portion of British Columbia is most likely currently stoned outta their tiny minds. There's a big MJ culture there. And it would explain a lot of what we're seeing. I'd bypass MJ and figure that the booker of the ceremony tried something harder myself. Really surreal in parts! Awesome live-blogging everybody!

I just now got to view last night's opening ceremony (DVR). It may have already been mentioned, but NBC's homage to Canada really really moved me. I liked the Canada-U.S. neighbor segment a whole lot too. I've always been proud to have Canada as a neighbor, but to hear someone else put it in perspective instead of just having to internalize it all was really really moving.
(There was plenty more they could have said, don't get me wrong; but I did appreciate the tone and aura of the piece.)

I apologize in advance if this political. I have gotten sick of the damn protesters already. Yeah they do have a point but they lost all credibility when they started rioting and smashing windows. They are out for attention for only themselves.
